What is your least favorite spice?
Mine is cloves. If I’m making a dish that absolutely has to have it, I usually half the amount.

What is your favorite comfort food?

I am going to extend my $5 off special to include Father’s Day. Maybe your dad loves to cook. My cookbook would be a great gift or part of a gift set.

What are you cooking for Memorial Day Cookouts?
I’m cooking a Brisket using the recipe on page 46. For this recipe, I prefer to season the meat with fewer flavors because I like the flavor of the brisket.
When this roast finishes, you can do so many things with it. Slice it for brisket plates with baked beans, potato salad, and coleslaw. You can chop it and make bbq sandwiches. You can top baked potatoes with it.
I’m serving it Sunday with baked beans (recipe coming soon in my next cookbook), deviled eggs (page 1), and Paul’s Barbecue Sauce (page 87).
Enjoy this meal with a large glass of iced tea.

This recipe is one I tweaked for the restaurant. It was popular with my Sunday buffet crowd. It was a must have when Rickey and Judy Floyd had their Trucking Safety Meeting at our restaurant. Rickey required us to serve meatloaf and Judy required this cake. We chose the rest.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there!!! In honor of Mother’s Day, for the month of May, I’m reducing the price of the cookbook to $25 (plus $5 shipping if needed)

Now, I think your mother might like this recipe. I don’t recall when I started serving this dish at the restaurant, but it was well received. Found on page 31, it’s easy and very delicious. I’d pair this recipe with a crisp Arkansas Pinot Grigio from the Post Family Winery.

Saturday Steak Day!!!
Page 37 in “Favorite Recipes from Gayle’s Family Restaurant” cookbook would be perfect for dinner tonight. Roast some vegetables or make a salad. Pair it with a good full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine will stand up to the fat marbling in the ribeye. If you choose a Filet Mignon, I’d suggest a Pinot Noir. If you don’t drink wine, you can’t go wrong with a good iced tea. Whatever you choose to eat or drink, enjoy it! Savor it! Live it! Most importantly, love it!

Happy Friday everyone! I’m still learning the ins and outs of having a page account. Please feel free to invite anyone to follow this page. Also, feel free to ask questions. If you have a copy of my cookbook and have a question, feel free to ask.
Most importantly, happy cooking!
