Longtime Jones County Board member and dedicated farmer Guy Peterson has officially wrapped up his 2025 harvest season. But before the final rows were cut, Peterson took time to share the experience with the next generation.
Each year, Peterson’s landlord brings his two grandsons from Dubuque to the farm, giving them a hands-on glimpse into the joys and hard work of harvest time. The kids love going back to school to tell their friends what they got to do and see. Congratulations to Guy Peterson on a safe and successful harvest!

Clover Kids meet from January - May in Jones County. We are still recruiting caring adult volunteers to help lead fun, hands-on activities for K-3 students in our Clover Kids groups. Time/day/location of groups is up to the leaders. No teaching experience needed - just your energy, creativity, and community spirit!

So far this fall, we have groups forming in Anamosa, Cascade, Monticello, Lisbon, and Olin. Each of these groups would welcome more adult volunteers, even if you can't commit to each month. Our team would love to see additional clubs start up as we have received interest from all corners of the county!

If you have a passion for youth and are interested in learning more, contact Amelia at 319-465-3224 or [email protected].
