Last weekend at the Homer Farmer's Market, we purchased Karl's Everything Mix seasoning. We tried it on our red sockeye salmon tonight and it tastes amazing on salmon!! Super yummy!! We highly recommend it. It's all natural. We sprinkled the seasoning onto the fillet and pan-seared the salmon. Then topped it with warm corn salsa. Delicious! Karl will be at the Homer Farmer's Market for the rest of the season selling his Fire Grill BBQ meals, seasonings and sauces, including the seasoning mix we tried tonight. Enjoy!! :)

Getting Ready for Fishing!! We are excited for the upcoming salmon fishing season! In just about one month, red sockeye salmon will be swimming back into the Cook Inlet from the Gulf of Alaska.

Our commercial fishing season starts June 19 and runs through mid-August. We plan to have more sockeye salmon for sale around mid-August with pick locations from Homer to Anchorage! In the meantime, we are working on getting our boat, the F/V Lizzy T, ready for the upcoming season.

Days are getting longer with more hours of sunlight and temps are out of the freezing range, making it much easier to work on the boat! Itā€™s a real treat to watch the wildlife in the Homer Harbor as we work ā€“ check out our video of mama and baby sea otter on the dock, and our eagle photos!

While on vacation last week in Michigan (to visit my Mom) and in Florida (to attend my daughterā€™s college graduation), I brought some of our salmon to my mom's and made a few salmon recipes which I plan to share here soon. The red salmon with Chermoula spiced herb sauce was delicious, as was the chum/keta salmon with warm corn salsa (both pictured here).

Speaking of chum/keta, we will be selling some at the upcoming season opener of the Homer Farmerā€™s Market this Saturday, May 23!! Another post will soon follow for that. :)

A HUGE thank you to all of our amazing customers for supporting us in our first year of direct marketing our salmon!!

We love commercial fishing and feel incredibly fortunate to provide such a delicious, high-protein, healthy food to our community. Selling our entire catch to wholesalers simply isnā€™t sustainable for us, so in 2024 we set out to bring some of our salmon directly to you. While we couldnā€™t make it happen that first year, we worked hard in 2025 and successfully launched our direct salesā€”and weā€™re so proud of what weā€™ve built.

Most commercially caught salmon in Alaska is shipped out of state, which is why it means so much to us that the majority of our fish has been sold right here in Alaska. From harvesting salmon in the pristine waters of Cook Inlet, to processing our fish on the Kenai Peninsula, to delivering beautiful, frozen fillets directly to customers from Homer to Anchorageā€”this has been an incredibly fulfilling journey.

We believe strongly in local food for our local communities, and weā€™re honored to share this with you.

We truly couldnā€™t have done this without you. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your support, your encouragement, and for taking the time to connect with us. Itā€™s been a joy getting to know so many of you.

We are currently sold out of sockeye salmon, but weā€™re already looking ahead to this summerā€™s 2026 fishing season and canā€™t wait to bring you more fresh frozen red sockeye this August!

Weā€™re also planning to have a booth at the Homer Farmerā€™s Market on May 23rd (if we still have some keta/chum salmon available). Stay tuned for updates on Facebook and our website.
