Just to let everyone know, KJ's Taco Fusion (KJ's Korean Tacos) will NOT be open this summer season as Chef KJ will be out cheffing in the wilds of Alaska at the Highliner Lodge and the Tsiu River Lodge through October 1st. Thank you friends, maybe I will pop up and feed you tacos in the fall!

Such a gorgeous day for our last market of the season! Thank you so much, Anchorage market-goers! Thank you Spenard for being our home base and favorite neighborhood! Thank you Spenard Food Truck Carnival and Spenard Farmer's Market! And thank you to my lovely Valeria and awesome Luke and ALWAYS a huge thank you to my Jennifer for the YEARS of being my biggest helper and cohort. Happy summer, Alaska! See you next year!

Tomorrow will be the last SFTC for at LEAST a month, and possibly the entire season. Chef Kristin Glitterboots Jones will be heading out to the very remote and gorgeous Tsiu River Lodge between Cordova and Yakitat for a while :D So, come see us tomorrow for some taco fusion awesomeness!!! :D Thank you to all for such an AMAZING season!!!!!

So this is my take on a Bánh mì- but from my feedback at the markets, I think it's acceptable (actually very VERY great reviews!!!). French roll, Sriracha aioli, artisan Romaine, bo ssäm style pulled pork, a carrot-ginger-sambal slaw (spicy and sweet pickled slaw), and a salad of fresh cucumber, basil, mint, cilantro, scallions and black and white sesame seeds. My other variation had grilled reindeer sausage on it as well for an AK twist. You should come down on a Thurs or Sat and give me your thoughts! Thurs at the Spenard Food Truck Carnival and Saturday at the Spenard Farmers Market! ALSO- special this Friday I will be at 'Koots from 6-10pm! :D Come say hi! There are also some other awesome vendors that will be there Friday night as well- I know Babycakes Cupcakes, Etc will be- and the best thing to follow an awesome Asian fusion experience is an amazing cupcake!!!

SO I'll have three menu items tomorrow at the Spenard Farmers Market- The OG Korean Taco, The Banh mi, and the unnamed (need to fix that tomorrow!) Korean Taco with the addition of a sesame dressed cabbage slaw with wanton crispies and both toasted cashews and almonds. I'll have to get a pic of the new addition tomorrow :D
