Steelbow Farm grows specialty vegetables and berries in the Hudson Valley. Steelbow Farm is a small mixed vegetable operation outside of Austin, TX.

We believe in taking care of people, plants and soil while growing beautiful food and community. We grow diversified vegetables using low to no-till practices.

Late varieties are here and VERY pickable. AND we have sunflowers to cut and T-SHIRTS have finally arrived! Come for the berries stay for the merch.

it’s a hard time to try and market the farm. there is a lot of dark in the world right now. it is the fires burning to the north, the climate volatility that surrounds us. the pain and abuse and violence of ice on our communities and neighbors. there is war and genocide far away and folks struggling to afford basic needs and services, right here all around us. the hurt is thick in the air. and what to say? i think im very lucky that i still find purpose in trying to farm and grow food. i love harvesting the first eggplant and squash. i find an almost meditative joy in picking blueberries and sungolds and it helps with the overwhelm of this moment. so i guess i just wish us all small joys and appreciation of the small lives we lead, to nourish and grow, rest and recharge. creek swims, tomato sandwiches, ice cream, sitting in grass with the people you love. in a time where there is a lot of ugliness and cruelty, been trying to cling to kindness and caring and the small beauty of picking berries.

Blueberry muffins, blueberry cobbler, blueberry crisp, blueberry squares, scones, pancakes, waffles, smoothies, blueberry ice cream, blueberry cake, strudel, turnovers, pop tarts, blueberry jam, blueberry syrup, blueberry wine?!

freeze ‘em, fresh eat ‘em, pop them in a tart!
but first you gotta pick ‘em (at least if you want to really taste real blueberry flavor)

BLUEBERRY & SUNGOLD SEASON maybe makes all the chaos and exhaustion and doubting your life choices and general maxed out feelings of July on a farm in the northeast all worth it?!

However we feel, we’ll be here for you for UPICK blueberries tomorrow (7/8) and Friday (7/10) and Saturday (7/11) 8am - 1pm. Come get some.

It’s July and on this farm that means BLUEBERRIES!
UPICK is open Friday & Saturday this week from 8-noon (quitting early due to the extreme heat). Can’t really think of a more perfect morning activity than filling up a bucket with little juicy blue orbs. Then go jump in some water and repeat. All summer long.

TODAY the berries collide! First of the bloobs & last of the strawbs! UPICK today Wednesday 7/1 8-1. We made strawberry & blueberry shortcake last night to celebrate. Come on over to Wiltsie Bridge and pick one kind of berry or two!
