Time to move the chicken tractor into the shade. Our tractor holds 50 meat chickens at a time, and was built entirely from scrap material 💪🏻🛠️

I ride inside the tractor while the hubs drives, making sure no chickens get ran over while we’re in motion 😅

June from Little Tree Farm gave us two beautiful little doelings last week 🥰 This is Mollie Mae 🩷 and Betty Sue 🩷. They will be staying here with us as we continue to grow our dairy herd!

Teachin the youngins life skills. We processed 30 of our freedom rangers that we raised from chicks last weekend. We highly recommend this breed for meat birds if you’re looking for a sustainable alternative to cornish cross. They had fantastic breast size and legs for heritage birds. We held back a dozen to continue hatching out our next round of birds, which you can’t do with Cornish cross. We had each kid (and mom and dad) running a station including culling, scalding, plucking, gutting, and packaging. We got 30 birds done in one day without a hitch. So grateful for this big family and what we can accomplish together 💪🏻 ❤️
