We are hatching chicks! These eggs are from my Barred Rock and Black Astrolop hens. We currently only have two hens so we have saved the eggs for 11 days and started the incubator yesterday. Days 1-17 humidity should be 50-55% and temp 99.5-100.5. We will candle on days 7 and 10. Hatch day is May 12. If we can we will try to do a live stream that day to watch the hatch. The new chicken schooner is finished. After the tornado a few months ago and losing all our pens, we decided it was time to move to the larger schooner model rather than rebuild the smaller chicken tractors. This large pen holds about 600 birds and hopefully will simplify feeding chores and well as loading for processing.
