Found this one today on a service call in Neosho, MO.

Customer had a 1.5 HP well pump tripping the breaker. A different contractor had already been out and couldn’t find anything wrong. We ran an insulation test on the motor itself, came back clean, no short there. That told us to keep tracing the circuit instead of jumping to a pump replacement.

Working section by section from the breaker back to the pressure switch, we found this, a wire splice buried under attic insulation that had overheated and burned through. Cut it out, spliced it properly, and the system fired right up.

Proper diagnostics found a simple, affordable fix where it could have easily turned into an unnecessary pump pull. That’s the difference the right tools and process make.

Storm Damage Can Happen Instantly.

With these recent storms we’ve seen quite a bit of lightning damage. We’ve had several customers left without water after lightning struck their well systems.

In one photo(left) you can see a control box that literally exploded from a lightning strike. In the other(right) the control box was severely burned and damaged. These are just a couple examples of what lightning can do to a well system.

If you’ve experienced a storm recently and notice no water, low water pressure, or your system isn’t operating correctly, lightning damage could be the cause. And we are happy to help you get back into water and get your system running smoothly!

All this rain has made some jobs a little muddy! But if your ground is too wet we will lay down mats and build a temporary road way so we can get to your well without getting stuck. Whatever it takes to keep your water running!

Iron problem… gone - without a treatment system.

This well had:
• 3.4 ppm iron
• Constant staining
• Filters plugging nonstop

Instead of installing treatment, we fixed the well itself:

✔ Sealed the upper well to stop air intrusion
✔ Replaced rusted galvanized drop pipe
✔ Stabilized and cleaned the system

Result (2 weeks later):
• Iron reduced to 0.1 ppm
• Water running clear
• No ongoing maintenance or chemicals

Most systems treat symptoms.
We fix the source when possible.

For many years I’ve intentionally kept Huston’s Water Solutions small and hands-on. I’ve always believed quality matters more than speed, and I’ve been careful about growth because once standards slip, it’s hard to get them back.

Demand for dependable well and water system work continues to grow, and rather than stretch myself thinner or lower expectations, I’ve decided to add one carefully selected technician to the team.

This isn’t rapid expansion and it’s not a rush hire. It’s a long-term, growth-track position for someone mechanically inclined, coachable, and serious about mastering a skilled trade.

My goal is simple: maintain the same level of quality while improving long-term availability for customers.
