The entire barn got a clean out today! Kid stalls, milker stalls and dry doe stalls! This is a rare thing that we can do it in one afternoon and evening but it got done! It would not have been possible without all hands on deck with Caden, Craig, Dad and myself. Chores are done and everyone is settled into their clean sheets, and it's time for a shower and sleeeeeep for the humans! 🙌

The next doe to earn her milk star was none other than The Hill Valley Farm Z Lila Grace 3*M
Lila is the daughter of the amazingly productive Cori's Fancy T Erma 2*M, who was the daughter I went searching for when I first realized how productive May Flower was. Erma was bred and freshened with twin does right after we got her home and Lila was one of those does.
Lila earned her AR milk star in all 3 categories easily as a FF. She has that buttery soft texture udder and teats and is so incredibly dairy. She has width and power throughout as well like her dam. While Lila was our first homebred doe to earn her milk star, she is also the dam of our first homebred permanent champion GCH Oer the Sea 2 Skye 4*M.
Lila is now 7 years old and resides on another farm with one of her 2026 daughters and a grand daughter. She has done so much for our program! We have 3 daughters here: GCH Hill Valley Oer the Sea 2 Skye 4*M, Hill Valley Graceful Aurora, and Hill Valley LR Lola May, and they will all be bred for 2027 kidding season. 2027 will be our first kidding season without Lila and while we miss her, we are happy she can help another herd out as well. 💜

The next doe to get her milk star was the late Vista Oaks That's What She Said 4*M VEEE90
Sadly Sheila passed away a year and a half after she met credentials to have her milk star awarded by anaphylaxis. What did she have an allergic response to? We don't know and likely never will.
Her barn name was Sheila.
Sheila was one of the most beautiful does to ever grace our barn. Her mammary was absolutely hands down my favorite. High, wide, medial was amazing and excellent teat placement. She had a sassy but at times loving personality to us and we absolutely adored her. She gave my son the confidence in the ring he needed. And watching him show her was one of my greatest memories at shows. She actually finished but it was a youth show and we were missing sanction by 2 does. In an open show she would have done it. To us, she was THE champion. She also gave the best side eyes and could look completely over all the things when on the milk stand, something she got from her dam 😂 Fortunately we have her daughter Hill Valley A Fortissimo to carry on her legacy. RIP, sweet girl, you were finally awarded the milk star you so much deserved.

The next girl to get her milk star was GCH Cade's Lil Farm SE Faline 1*M VEEE91.
Faline is an incredible producer and easily hit the credentials to get her AR milk star in all 3 categories on milk test a few years ago 🙌
Faline has moved our herd forward in a few ways but my favorite is her son: Hill Valley Struck Gold *B. He looks so much like her and the kids he throws all have a liking to Faline. I'm so incredibly hopeful they also have the production!

A lot of you just know her as "Butter" but her registered name is Hill Valley Butterfly Effect. You see, her dam was Woody Glen Z Little Sophia. I couldn't call her dam by Sophia because of a beloved collie I had named Sophia, therefore I nicknamed her "Dolly". Well when Dolly had this big beautiful single doeling I knew I wanted something with Butterflies. Then I remembered what a butterfly effect is. So that's how Butter got her name. I think Dolly (the human) would really get a kick out of it and laugh with us because while it's a cool name Butter was never supposed to be what she is to us. She wasn't a "keeper doe" that year but we all quickly changed our minds and fell in love. Butter is an integral part of our herd. Her line is incredible so much so, we kept a buckling from her this year. So today, at Hill Valley Farm we are saddened by the news of losing Tennessee's sweetheart. I can only hope to always be as kind and giving and loving as Dolly was. May her legacy live on in all of us. And now you know how Butter got her name 💜

Our next doe to be awarded her star is GCH Vista Oaks Risky Business 1*M VEEE90
Risky is one of those does who caught my eye long ago and later was offered to me by Lacy Johnson at Vista Oaks Farm . Risky has been such a joy to have with her ultimate sweetness that she literally stamps all her kids with but also the girl can produce and boy does she! Earning her AR star in all 3 categories easily then also becoming a finished champion and generally winning first place udder whatever show she went to, this little lady stands out. I am NEEDING more daughters out of her so as it is now, she is 9 years old and while we tried our best to get her bred last year, it didn't happen so this year she is a priority.
Fun fact about Risky...when being milked she is an absolute angel but will tap her front leg which is letting me know she doesn't always approve but because she is so stinking sweet won't do more than that 🤣💜

Our next doe who was awarded her milk star is Cori's Fancy T Elfwyn 3*M VEE+88 (scored dry).
Elfwyn came with May therefore is the second piece to our start of Hill Valley Farm. She has always been the "herd clown" and a stinker. She has "no touch me days" and then other days she cannot get enough of you and she is hilarious! She has always had me laughing at her antics but more importantly this doe's will to milk is unlike any other I have ever seen. To get her dried up took months and even then she kept a little udder. She had no problem earning her milk star and we are proud of our Elfwyn!
She is now 13 and retired and, like May, living her best retired life. While May is definitely starting to show her age, you would NEVER think Elfwyn is 13 as she is aging gracefully as we all hope to do! Thank you, again, to Patti Treece for trusting us with this incredible girl!! Never did I think a goat could bring so much laughter and fun until we got Elfwyn!

Cori's Fancy N May Flower has received her 1*M status. May is where it all started for me. I remember milking her and thinking someone should record this because this seems impressive! Naturally I went looking for a daughter to bring in and I got her (Cori's Fancy T Erma 2*M).
May hated to be milked and danced the whole time on the stand 🤣 but she got her milk star and has finally been awarded! When talking about dam lines, this is my "May dam line" that I often tell folks how I've worked with this line for years. Since 2018 to be exact when she freshened with a single buckling. May has great great grand daughters on the ground this year, with her great grand daughter being none other than GCH Hill Valley Oer the Sea 2 Skye 4*M.
May is now 14 years old and living out her days as a retired granny but I will forever be so grateful to her breeder Patti Treece for trusting me with her and showing me what a productive doe can do in your herd. Every bit of what we have done here at Hill Valley traces back to this girl right here and she will forever be my heart goat 💜

I will be talking about our milkers who have finally been awarded their milk stars after years of waiting however I wanted to first toot the horn of our sweet, easy going, but sadly late Cedar View Xcalibur+*B!!!
Yes, since milk stars have been awarded he has always been awarded his +B thanks to his daughters! We loved our X man and so happy to have his genetics in our herd to carry on his legacy 💜
