Evans & Evans Farm

Evans & Evans Farm Evans & Evans Farm is in Andes, NY 150 miles north of New York City. Evans & Evans Farm started in the lower Hudson Valley sixty miles north of New York City.

We raise grass-fed/grass-finished Katahdin hair sheep for the gourmet meat market in New York and the Northeast. We began with a 17 acre farm in Patterson, Putnam County which we used as a base. We grazed 175 acres of reclaimed pasture in Brewster, Patterson and Pawling belonging to absentee landowners who were happy to have us as beneficial stewards of the landscape. In January, 2014 we bought a

farm 2,000 feet up in Andes in the Catskills at the top end of New York City's watershed. We raise pasture-grazed/grass-fed Katahdin hair sheep, an American breed developed in the 1950s near Mt. Katahdin, Maine. The meat we sell is from stock that has been nurtured on grass - no artificial growth hormones, no antibiotics in the feed, no corn, no GMOs. Our labor-intensive methods involve moving our flocks every day onto fresh pasture. This produces consistently mild, healthy, flavorful meat.
