Dear Friends,
I'm reaching out via post with both an update and an invitation.
As many of you know, I've been nurturing the sion for what is now called Artemis Collaborative— a project whose roots go back about a decade before 2018, when I first took steps toward making this dream a reality. Like all meaningful endeavors, it has evolved in its own time. And as life often reminds us, things unfold at the pace they need to—sometimes slower than we expect, but often with greater depth. Now, the time feels right to re-engage you.
Your past interest, support, and insights—not to mention your patience—have meant a great deal to me. As I bring this vision more fully into reality, I want to invite you back into the conversation and welcome your support once again.
Artemis Collaborative is no longer just a dream—it’s becoming a tangible nonprofit initiative, soon to be a registered 501(c)(3) in New Jersey. Through this, we aim not only to protect and celebrate the land but also to honor the deeper purpose that sparked this project from the beginning.
At its heart, this initiative is about weaving together community, conservation, and creativity. It’s about showing how land stewardship and sustainable agriculture can coexist and support one another. Homesteaders will come to appreciate and protect habitat, while nature stewards will find students and allies in the farmers who work the land.
In parallel, my lifelong passion for the arts is deeply embedded in this vision. At Artemis Collaborative, nature will not simply serve as a backdrop but as a vital source of inspiration. This will be a cooperative community that centers on restorative farming, ecological best practices, and a holistic exchange between nature, the arts, and the humanities. I believe this intersection can foster a sustainable, vibrant, and lasting model—one that serves as both sanctuary and cultural hub, where artists, naturalists, and farmers inspire and educate one another.
To take the next steps, we need the same kind of synergy among people. While we await final confirmation of our 501(c)(3) status, we’ve partnered with the New Jersey Highlands Coalition who now serves as our fiscal sponsor and advisor. I’ve also teamed up with colleague and friend, Jeff Oppenheim—a producer of global film, music, and humanitarian campaigns—who will help guide Artemis Collaborative’s operations and long-term growth.
Just as in nature, balance is key in this next stage of development. And so I invite you to take part in this opportunity in a deeper way. Please consider showing your support by becoming a member today by visiting our website: www.artemis collaborative.org.
In the coming days, I’ll reach out to schedule a time to invite you over to share more about where things stand and how you might become involved moving forward. Until then, I look forward to reconnecting, hearing your thoughts, and building this dream together.
With gratitude and anticipation,
Steve Covacci
