I usually don't grow lettuce because it doesn't store well and I can only eat so many salads, but I had some strange space after I harvested my garlic and man are these heads of lettuce big! Salad for dinner it is! 🤣🥬

We are full into the late summer garden where I can't quite tell what's a w**d and what's vine and the Tromboncino are so big they're bending my cattle panel arches over, but she's still producing! As long as I dig through the mess 🤣

RIP to this beauty of a roo 😭
Pretty Boy was always... different. He never crowed. Never bothered with the hens. Came inside every day for snacks and never minded being carried around. He wasn't ever going to protect anyone, including himself, but he was the sweetest boy.
He never appeared sick. He seemed a bit off the day before, and when I closed the coop door last night, he had passed.
This is the part of owning animals that's always the hardest 😔

Anyway, snagged some tomatoes and basil after work 😋
