Lovely 50° morning ☀️This morning, Leghorn, was sitting out beside the garden this morning. I guess she spent the night not locked up… good thing she stayed safe😅 Californian baby rabbits are 8 weeks old now. You can also tell which Polish chicks are roosters a little easier every day.
They are getting the crazy hair that their dad lil Peep had 😆

The duckling is three weeks old now! Still does not have a permanent name, but the contenders are Glorilla, Lil Wayne, and Nelly. Thoughts?
Sadly, one of the peachicks was found dead yesterday. No obvious sign of trouble, we are not sure what happened. The other one seems fine.
And sweet potato aka Dot is pulling fur and making a nest. I had put her on a date with the orange Holland lop Mango, but then Elena told me she got through the divider when she was in the old set up and had spent a day or two with the black New Zealand buck Licorice. So if she has babies, we should be able to tell pretty quickly who the dad was.🙄😒 I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Holland Lops are out of the quail room 😅 Isaac got their new outdoor space set up and they seem happy out there 😊 Lady Pippa Louise enjoyed time outside the Quail room in her extra large pen in the yard. The birds are doing great peacock chicks are fine, the duckling that I call Nelly is doing fine, and the guinea hens even got to go run around the yard AND they came back home! Good job birds!

Summer is in full swing ☀️ the Holland lops have gone on their last dates of the season, the duckling is doing well, the peacock chicks, and their chicken friend are now outside with the big peacock and some of the Polish have moved to the bigger chicken area. The biggest difference around here is that Peter, Elena‘s barn, cat and supervisor, is getting older and his kidneys aren’t great. He has moved inside and is currently sound asleep in a cat hammock enjoying air-conditioned retirement. I kind of miss him being outside, but I also enjoy not tripping on a cat.😆

Elena has been hatching more quail, and she hatched a baby duckling. She brought it outside for the ducks, but it seems to think Sunny the chicken is its mother. The birds are all doing well and the garden is growing. Pretty soon my Holland lops will have their own outdoor hutch. Isaac is in the process of building one.😊

We are enjoying the beautiful weather 🤩some of the rabbits are going through quite the molt. Grayson has a toupee of orange hair now lol. Little Agate went to her new home yesterday and the polish chicks are really growing up.

Lots of baby bunnies here of various ages😁. Possibly more being born this week! The Californian-Silver Fox crosses are 7 weeks old, the Californians are 2 weeks old and the Holland Lops are 4 weeks old. Plus a 9 week old Holland that is 👀 for a 🏠 😊

It’s been a hazy couple of days, but the animals are doing well despite the wildfire smoke. Malibu‘s babies are seven weeks old now. Sierras are 2 weeks old. The Polish chicks are getting bigger and running around with the guinea hens and the peacock. The garden is growing and all is well. Plus another group of bees found Elena’s discarded boxes so she moved them by the other bees and now we have two groups of bees! 🐝

Elena and Isaac stopped by a farm on their way home from the Fourth of July and picked up five new guinea fowl -so Nubs has friends now! They also came home with two peacock chicks and a chicken chick. The person who they bought them from said they raised the peacock chicks with a chicken chick to teach them how to eat food and drink water😳🙄 birds really something 😂😂😂 but Elena and Isaac enjoy them. They are hoping one of the chicks is a female for Percy the peacock. 🦚 we shall see…. Malibu’s litter of 11 is down to eight, but we think that’s manageable for her. One of the Hollands found a new home, and the two week olds are doing great. 🦚

Malibu, the Californian rabbit, just had a litter of 11 babies today! All will be purebred Californians.
Both Holland Lop babies are girls! Send us a message if you are looking for a doe. Agate is a longer coat harlequin and Amber is a broken orange.
