A bit of sad news today, our four week old black baby Bunny Holland lop Angus, died today. Elena and Isaac had all the birds and Bunnies out of the rabbit room in the garage today so they could thoroughly clean and scrub it. So the baby bunnies were in a different pen outside, but they were so small they fit through the holes. So they put something else around the cage for extra security, and came in for dinner. Dan was still out working on the truck, and saw Peter carrying a dead baby bunny into the garage to eat it😳our baby bunny- and the other two were loose in the yard! So they were not actually secure in their cage, and Peter is no “old yeller” 😢😞😔RIP Angus. Who was actually a beautiful doe as it turns out. Elena feels terrible and is mad at herself and Peter. Peter doesn’t seem sorry… this is the first Holland lop baby he has ever gotten in all these years. Accidents happen, but still sad. Now Sweet Potato aka “Dot” just has her 2 biological babies to raise. We also bred Black Cherry aka “Betty” and “Honey Badger” a few weeks ago…so we will see if we get any new babies in the next couple days😏 🐰

Baby Holland Lops are 4 weeks old 🧡 they are so adorable- I do not know if they are boys or girls yet but hopefully Elena can check in the next week or two. We are calling them Amber, Agate and Angus. Angus is the black one of course 😆

Claude, our pet rabbit 🐇 that lives in our garage, loves broadleaf plantain, as a treat. Most people do not like broadleaf in their lawn, but the rabbits love it.❤️

Yesterday we found a raccoon swiping eggs, and one of the pigeons is missing… we don’t know if the raccoon got it or if it just escaped through a hole in the fence- we are keeping an eye out in case he comes back. We also have Polish chicks that could go to new 🏡. And the three baby Holland lops are almost 3 weeks old. Bees 🐝 are making brooder cells- so they seem happy and are going to start having baby bees 😊 Elena also got cabbage for the chickens and Peacock, but they are currently hiding from the cabbage🫣😆

The three new Bunnies managed to disrupt Elena‘s watering system in the garage again so they got to spend the day out in the yard yesterday drying off and we solved the waterer problem, and now they are all doing fine today😊
They kept causing floods and making swimming pools😆, but I think we are all done with that now. Then Dan messaged us that there was a snapping turtle in the Polish chicken house with the peacock and the pigeons! We got him out, but we still aren’t entirely sure how he got in there?? but it does make sense why the peacock in the guinea and were being especially noisy while we were working outside😆😆 and it’s almost peony time!!

Elena used the old wagon to transport the “teenage” bunnies out to open grass. On her first attempt, she lost a passenger.😆 but one Bunny seemed perfectly happy with the ride. On the second attempt, she used milk crates with better results.🤣 she also moved the Polish chicks out to the brooder- I believe the final number was 27 chicks 😳

We took some pictures of the three baby Holland lops tonight❤️ They are 12 days old and their eyes are just opening up. Next, we counted the 14 new bunnies, but sadly one had died, so Sierra now has eight and Salem has five. They are three days old.

I checked the nest boxes and the 14 new baby Bunnies are doing well at 2 days old. The larger babies are already six weeks old and their cages are getting crowded with their mothers😂 Grayson used his ramp and will be spending the day in the yard 😃and we had over a dozen Polish chicks hatch in the incubator yesterday! I’m not sure if we are keeping them all yet or what our plan is…

We have new baby Bunnies! Sierra had nine babies yesterday and Salem had 5 😎 I moved Salems nest box to see the babies, and they all fell out the bottom so I had to quick scoop them up and did not get a picture. We will need to fix that later. She also bred Salt and Greyjoy, but they don’t look like they are going to have babies. Meanwhile, Grayson is enjoying running in the yard and his ramp. In the incubator, four Polish chicks have hatched…. So even though we no longer have Lil peep the rooster, his legacy lives on.😎
