MAC Gardens is now located at YB Farm in Andover NJ, right next door to our previous location. All our produce, herbs and flowers are grown with out chemical herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers. We sell directly to the public through our 20 Week CSA program as well as provide local produce to area restaurants and markets. To improve and protect the soil, we add our own compost, local manure and
utilize nutrient building cover crops. We also mix in coffee grounds sourced from a local coffee house. In the past 5 years we have kept about 75,000 pounds of coffee grounds out of landfills. Rotation of crops to different fields every year is vital to maintaining a healthy farm. By nourishing the earth we are blessed with better more wholesome produce. And again, we will never use synthetic fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides on our crops! We eat this food too! Local and sustainable are not just buzzwords. We started growing our produce to partner with area restaurants, markets that believe in supporting local farms. This is our 5th year of selling our wholesome produce, the 3rd under the name MAC Gardens. The name of MAC Gardens came about when three friends (Mike, Andrea and Clint) decided to pool their knowledge, energy and passion to learn and grow together. Our vegetable growing philosophy is dictated by taste and appearance. To this end, every year we analyze and trial different varieties. Every year we continue to expand our knowledge and what we grow. To ensure MAC grows non GMO varieties and control just what goes into our crops we start most of our transplants from seed that way we know the source of our seed and the way the seedlings were grown. We believe in Farm to Table. All our produce is picked fresh for immediate sale. We do not cold storage any of our produce. This is how produce tastes its best.
