Not every day is happy on the farm, but we’re still thankful for it all. 💔 Wyatt said goodbye to sweet Grace today. She was the very first goat he ever got to show. They instantly won each other’s hearts, and the rest is history. They grew up together and it seemed like they could actually read each other’s minds. She always knew when he had a tough day, and she gave him extra kisses. Oh the Grace kisses…she was such a lover! She taught him how to show, taught him responsibility, helped his conference grow. She was a great little mama to her babies, 8 in all. She was gentle, loving, and she is already so very missed! Thank you, Holly and Shannon, for trusting us with her and for letting us love her. Thank you, sweet Grace, for being so easy to love…right up until your last breath! And, a special thank you to Dr Hada for always being so tender and comforting and for taking such good care of my 4-legged and 2-legged littles!

In just a few minutes, this spot will be filled with 2 animals, tack, brushes and sprays, 2 nervous kids, some smiles and laughs…paired with some doubts and frustrations…and a couple proud (and tired!) parents and little sisters. It will be fast and furious and set-up/tear-down will take longer than loading the animals in and out. But, more than all of that, this spot represents hard work, hot days, hours and hours, potential to win, potential to improve, life lessons, and pride! I love show weekend! They’re hard and not every minute is fun, but I love this life we live and these growing babies of mine…that will be here any second!! ❤️❤️🐄🐄

Didn’t realize how long it had been since I last posted! We’ve been busy with summer fun, farm chores, working steers, moving pens, and loving this rain! We brought Jonah, Lizzy and Winston home this week to wean then. They’re so big now! Stanley and Nora are growing strong too!! Here’s a picture of the nursery today when we were trying to clean out their muddy pen. Love our babies!!
Stay tuned for pictures from our first steer show of the new show year! We’ll be here in Andrews, and Wyatt will be showing Buck and Hank in their premier steer show at Boomtown Blowout!! They show Sunday and we’re excited to get show season started! Wish them luck! Cross your fingers and toes for them! We’ll keep you posted.
