This year we didn’t take the cows to the RRVF, but we did take the dairy goats there to the ADGA show again, so I thought I’d share how they did!

The difference between colostrum and milk!

Colostrum is the thick, yellow, first milk a cow gives that is rich in antibodies, specifically immunoglobulins that transfer passive immunity to the calf.
They produce this milk for 24 hours after calving, then it starts changing into regular milk.

The second picture is a picture of freeze dried colostrum! We freeze dry it in case it is ever needed in an emergency situation.
