The TLBGCA Spring Show, in Navasota, TX, is just around the corner (May 1-3), which means the entry deadline is quickly approaching. Go to www.tlbgca.com, click on “Events” and complete the entry form. Once all your animals are entered, click on the “payment” form. Entry deadline is Sunday night, April 19th, just 3 days away.

Membership to the Texas Longhorn Breeders Gulf Coast Association is great for networking with others raising Registered Texas Longhorns. We host 2 sales a year and provide a place to list your Longhorns for sale.

Double H Longhorn SHOWMANSHIP CAMP will be held June 26 & 27 at our home in Angleton, TX.

The TLBGCA Spring Show will include a Class 0 in the Trophy Steer show. This is not an official TLBAA class, but there will be several youth there with 2025 steers (some won in last year’s drawing) and they would like an extra opportunity to show, so we are adding Class 0.

Even though it’s not on the TLBAA Class Breaks page, if you want to show a young steer in the Open show, submit an entry form and we will get it in the right class.

It’s January 15th. The month is half over, and your time to enter the TLBGCA / Matagorda County Fair show is getting short. Entry deadline is 1/31. All entries after January 31 will incur a $10/entry late fee. Don’t pay extra … submit those entries soon.

These two had a very successful inaugural show as Junior exhibitors at the West Texas Fair in Abilene on Labor Day (9/1/25).

Elijah and KR DAVIS won Class Champion.
Paityn won Champion Jr. Showman while showing PERPETUA ST GIANNA. (Many thanks to Avery for showing the calf at side.)

I don’t know who enjoyed the weekend more … the kids or me.

We had an outstanding showmanship camp with 10 young ladies in attendance. The girls ranged from 5 to 18 years old, with 0 to 7 years of showing experiencing. But even with such a wide range of ages and experience levels, the girls interacted well, and some new friendships were made.
