One thing that anyone who grew up on a farm will remember doing is picking rocks!
Darn things. They can wreck hay making equipment pretty badly and quickly though if left unattended.
This field will be seeded to alfalfa soon.
The kids and grandpa were a literal machine out there today! Super proud of of them for hanging in and getting it done

🐝Dalrymple Farm Honey is owned and operated by Terry and Karen Dalrymple. They keep about 300 hives scattered throughout Steuben County. The honey they sell is all natural, raw and unfiltered. The Dalrymples also offer blended, flavored and creamed honey. Black raspberry, peach, cinnamon, and lemon flavored honey are popular choices. The Dalrymples also offer a variety of produce in the growing season, along with beeswax candles and homemade rugs. 🥚Garman Farms started about 6 years ago by Allison and Brandon Garman. Allison is a Meyer Hatchery Brand Ambassador and enjoys making farm content. We have 5 pigs going in next week and several available for custom cuts.

Beautiful sunset last night while putting out hay for our cows.

This is the first year we have been doing what is called “bale grazing” and wow has it been awesome!
We place the bales out in a winter pasture in a grid pattern and then fence off all but 2 of the bales for our cows to eat. 3 days later we roll up a little bit of fence to expose 2 more bales. We roll the feeders over to the new bales and we’re done!
No starting a skidsteer if it’s -15* and 2’ of snow. I had a full phone conversation the other day while feeding cows and wasn’t interrupted at all.
Plus we are applying all the manure and urine from the cows evenly throughout the pasture.
Here’s to the rest of the winter feeding months going as well as the first two!!👍🏻
