Checking the roots, mowing the fields, and spending time with our favorite farm dog. It has been a productive season growing more than just crops. Who else is out in the fields this week?

Hi All!
Yeah it’s been a while!
I often get the question of “where did you come up with Grains & Greens?”
So this kind of sums it up.
We make the grains and the greens work on our farms.
Using cover crops and crop rotations, biological products, improved fertility plans, and focusing on soil health has led us on this journey to work in with Mother Nature and not against. I have always felt I get further by working with people, so it just makes sense to do the same with our environment.
It’s all a process and a continual experiment, keep trying out there, and be safe.
Thanks!

National Ag Day is a time to celebrate agriculture and the people and organizations who make it possible. My parents, husband, and kids make it possible for us to farm. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a farmer and share the agricultural perspective with others.
Thank you to all farmers and their support system.

So much family fun!

We are trying something new this year - strip till in the fall into our cover crops. We also have some 60’ strips where we just ran the deep ripper. Looking at the difference between the two for yield, soil structure, profitability. This is the first time we are trying strip till, one of the main advantages is fertilizer placement . And yes, Bruno is happy riding in the tractor!
