Shish*to shenanigans 🤸

Shish*tos are fan-favorite pepper! They’re sweet and mild, but legend has it, about one in every ten are hot.

They’re amazing blistered in a hot skillet with a little oil, salt, and citrus! They make the perfect side dish to your summer dinners or an excellent snack!

Summer just got a little sweeter… SWEET PEPPERS ARE HERE! 🌶️🫑

Our long-awaited Carmen and Bell Peppers have finally arrived! We’re just getting into the first few harvests of them, so there’s still much more abundance to come from our pepper plants this season!

Find our first few sweet peppers in the Farm Stand and at farmers markets! Soon we’ll have more than enough to offer to our Summer CSA members and then send around town too!

One of our most asked questions on the farm is “Why are there so many cars in your parking lot?”

The simple answer: We have A LOT of farmers and A LOT of work to do!

We actively farm about 6 acres of land with INTENSE production practices. From seed to your table, we’re intimately involved in every step of the way.

This is just a little snapshot of everything we are up to in just one day of hard work! Thanks to careful planning and capable farmers, we’re able to divide our team up to conquer the multitude of tasks that require our attention each day!

(We also share our land with Matt Demmon - Feral Flora and Damian’s Craft Meats which add a few extra cars to our lot too!)

We get a lot of questions about why joining a CSA is different than just shopping with us at the Farm Stand and farmers markets. The main difference is the support you provide to our farm! CSA members are truly the lifeblood of our operation. We sell most of our shares in the winter, and these provide the revenue to buy materials for the season ahead. By joining a CSA, you ensure we have the means to continue farming for the year!

You also agree to stand by us through a season, no matter the outcome. It’s a commitment to supporting your local farmers through the thick and thin! In return, we offer our CSA members exclusive access to crops we don’t sell anywhere else, discounts in our Farm Stand, and the overall satisfaction of being a deeply cherished member of our community.

Tomato season has officially begun! 🍅✨

We’ve been patiently waiting for tomatoes to ripen and it’s finally happening! Our artisan and cherry tomatoes are just starting to trickle in from the fields!

You can find these juicy gems available in our Farm Stand and at our market stalls at the Kerrytown and Farmington Farmers Markets!

Soon we’ll be overflowing in tomatoes and will be offering them to our Summer CSA members and other outlets around town!

It’s been a smoky and crazy end to the week, but we’re still planning on being at markets tomorrow! Now’s a better time than ever to support your local farm and farmers!

Hey Y’all! It’s smoky out here! LIKE REALLY SMOKY!

Our team (of the most incredible farmers you’ll ever meet) has been working so hard in the heat AND the smoke this week to make sure we have clean, trustworthy produce for you!

When the air quality is over 300, we cancel all outdoor field work for the day. We give farmers the option to opt-in and continue working if they desire. This morning we started our days in masks and hustled to get CSA crops out of the field for this afternoon’s CSA distribution!

Since then, we’ve sent our staff home to seek safer conditions and rest from this doozy of a week.

Thank your farmers a little extra right now! It’s tough, but we love you guys and are happy to provide all the food we possibly can for you! We will update if there are any changes to our farmers market schedule this weekend.

This week’s big push on the farm: Garlic Harvest! 🧄

Our team harvested over 11,000 garlic bulbs from about 20 beds in our field! This is one of the very few times throughout the season where every member on our team works together on the same task! VERY fun and VERY demanding in this heat!

We topped most of our garlic and plan to cure it in crates for the next few months!
