Hey there garlic fam! It's been a little hard for me to make this post. We're moving -or at least working on it- so I've been putting the energy I would have put into marketing/selling my garlic into that instead.

That's the short of it. The longer is that several years ago Tina gave me a great opportunity to test out selling my garlic at the market. Since then, working with Tina (until she left), and Tanya, and Sally, and everyone else at Pittsfield Township Farmers Market has given me a lot of good memories and experience. It's also where I met my market buddy- Randy. He's got the best honey, folks! I like the other vendors too, but come on. Garlic and honey just work well together.

I really need to thank Tanya and crew because they've always done a great job at the market being supportive, helping with logistics, etc. And that's a difficult thing to do when half the time it's super hot and people are cranky, and the other half it's raining and tents are blowing over and people are cranky. Right? ;) But really... Thank you.

At this point I'm still not sure what I'm doing with my garlic, which I tended and harvested like normal just in case- although I didn't clean it up the way you normally see in my pictures. (normal for me, anyway)

If/when I figure that out, whether it's limited direct sales, or maybe just doing some online sales through PFM, I will post here.

I love you all and appreciate the support and patronage over the years. Thanks for being great customers, and friends. Here's a pic of me and Stella back in July bringing in the last of the '24 harvest. Hope your summer was good and we can cruise into a cooler fall.

It's the last outdoor market. Hope to see you there. The powder is amazing.

Hey folks! I'll have limited quantities of my first batch of powder at the market today. Also some of my biggest bulbs of garlic. 2-6. See you there!

Hey folks. I was hoping to bounce back from covid by the time the market rolled around, but I'm still not feeling well. As such, I won't be there today. I will be at the next scheduled date (Sept 14th) and will also have goods listed online this weekend. Other dates to be determined. I appreciate your understanding. Thank you - Doug

First batch of the season will hit the table tomorrow. The spice must flow!

Followup on the brined scapes...

A lot of ingredients include some of my fresh garlic(and my scapes!). I put about a half pound of honey into this batch. (Shout out to my friends Randy and Sandy- Heart of the Hive). The sauce and finished product are so good!

It's a relief to wrap up the harvest this year on such a beautiful day. We've been dodging rain and heat for the past two weeks. Stella was so good at hanging out while I pulled and field cleaned the bulbs.

Please take a moment to appreciate the beautiful bulbs of Italian purple before they begin blushing and curing. Then compare the Chesnok Red I just harvested and cleaned to ones from five days ago. Such a beautiful change.

I'm happy to share this facet of garlic that is largely unknown or overlooked. Have a great weekend!

Hey folks! We'll have our fresh (uncured) garlic at Pittsfield Township Farmers Market this Thursday (July 13) from 2 to 6! We'll be there the second and last Thursday of every month.

We've been hard at work picking and cleaning our garlic. We only use hands and hand tools to plant and harvest (no tractors). It is time consuming, but better for the environment and rewarding. Just look at these beauties!

When first cleaned they shine like we all wish our teeth were. After a couple days most varieties start to "blush". It's very satisfying to witness this process.

See you Thursday!
