I peeked into the supers of Hives (L to R) Philadelphia, Laodicea, Adonis, and Sardis. They all had some frames filled with uncapped honey but none were 100% full.

I will continue to patiently wait for my girls to do their thang. 💕

Hive Pergamum had some untouched frames in its top deep so I replaced them with resources taken from Hive Ephesus.

I also added a super which was the top medium taken from Hive Ephesus. Since the super was filled with empty frames of pure beeswax foundations, I went ahead and refilled their feeder so they could hopefully draw comb up there.

I will check on this hive in a couple of weeks to see if they’re ready for a queen excluder.

After listening to the June Monthly Buzz, I decided to remove one of Hive Smyrna’s top deep frames that had some funky drawn comb. I replaced it with an empty frame of pure beeswax foundation.

This hive is still ignoring its super even though its frames have previously drawn comb. Not sure what’s going on.

The top deep had plenty of capped brood, larvae, eggs, and capped honey.

I’m not expecting any honey from this hive this season, unfortunately.

Hive Smyrna seems to be ignoring their super. I looked at their top deep and found brood, eggs, larvae, nectar, and capped honey. The center frame had some freaky comb pattern going on. But due to it having lots of larvae and brood, I left it alone. They already had a queen excluder on because their super has frames with previously drawn comb. So not much I can do with this hive except monitor it.

Hive Ephesus is ignoring their top medium but they are drawing fresh comb in their bottom deep. They have tons of fresh pollen, capped honey, and nectar. I found spotty brood but no eggs. They still had syrup in their frame feeder. I’m going to continue monitoring this hive but I am puzzled by it. I’m not sure if there is a queen or laying workers or neither but there are plenty of bees.
