Sara Schmitt Dressage, based in Annandale, NJ, is pleased to offer training and lesson programs in July 2021. Trailer-ins are welcome.

USEF ‘S’ Dressage Judge, Grand Prix dressage rider and trainer and international combined driver, Sara Schmitt, relocated her training base to Annandale, N.J. Sara and her team are pleased to offer training and lesson packages in dressage and combined driving to students of all levels from beginner to Grand Prix. Sara also has a selection of quality horses for sale and offers her services to help you search for your next partner.

Have you ever wanted to go to Florida?

Sara Schmitt Dressage has 1-2 stalls available December through March in Loxahatchee, Florida for training and or boarding. We offer reasonable rates at a private facility. Full care available and we have lots of turnout and big field for hacking. PM for more details!

What a fun night!!! On Saturday, Paige Zimmerman and SSD Assistant Trainer Maggie O’Leary participated in the 4th Annual Evening of Musical Freestyles at Red Tail Farm to benefit Mane Stream Therapeutic Riding Facility. The turnout was great, especially from all of our barnmates and friends at Sara Schmitt Dressage! 🎶

Paige and SSD sales horse Alum Marky, dressed up and did their 1st level freestyle to music from the Lion King, and earned a 76%! 🦁

Under the lights, Paige and Maggie got Sweet Rosalie and Ducati ready to dance to ABBA in their PSG pas de deux. They dazzled and received an 82%! 🪩 Between both rides, together they raised about $1,300 for Mane Stream! 💃🕺

Our fabulous music was created by our own Paige! She not only did both of their freestyles but also created Melissa Cappazoli’s I-1 freestyle music! To anyone interested, she is currently offering musical freestyle services, choreo, and music editing! Feel free to reach out to her!

Thank you so much to Erika and the team at Red Tail Farm for hosting this fantastic event, it’s always so much fun and for a great cause. Thank you to everyone who donated, and thank you to all of our friends and family who came out and supported! HUGE thank you to Sara Schmitt, who did the choreography for the pas de duex. It was so much fun seeing everyone out and enjoying a night out for such a great cause.

🎶 TOMORROW NIGHT! 🎶

Come join us at Red Tail Farm on Saturday, August 29th for their 4th Annual Evening of Musical Freestyles to Benefit Mane Stream! 🐴

Cheer on Maggie O'Leary and Paige Zimmerman as they take on two musical performances!

🦁 First, Paige and Marky will have a roaring good time with their Lion King freestyle at 7:30 PM.

💃 Then, Maggie and Paige will be performing an ABBA-themed FEI Prix St. Georges pas de deux with Rosie and Ducati at 8:40 PM... Mamma mia!

The whole evening begins at 6:30 PM and will feature many musical performances from all levels of riders, plus food trucks. 🌮 Everyone is welcome!

All proceeds benefit Mane Stream therapeutic riding facility. There is no cost to attend, but spectators are encouraged to support their favorite performances by voting with donations. Every dollar donated adds one point to the performance score, and you can vote as many times as you’d like for one or multiple riders!

Stevie is an exceptional young horse looking for someone to bring him up the levels. He is not spooky, easy to trailer and handle. Three comfortable quality gaits and would be well suited or an AA or Professional. Currently only has front shoes and is up to date on all vaccines. This gelding is such a sweetheart and loves to cuddle! We do have a very good PPE on file from March 2025. Located in Annandale. PM us for more details!

✨CENTURY CLUB✨

“I’ve always loved horses and rode whenever I could, taking lessons and dreaming of someday having a horse of my own.

A successful career in science and a family put that dream on pause for many years. Finally a friend helped me find the riding world in New Jersey and get back in the saddle. A change in my work situation meant that I finally had time for horses. I bought my draft cross, Dante, as a coming six year old. I was attracted by his kind eye, steady temperament and athleticism. I quickly learned that I was pretty much starting over as a rider and no longer so young. Good trainers and friends, especially Denise Fant, helped Dante become a solid low level dressage horse who competed at first level under a couple of riders. By then I had joined the horse community at Sara Schmitt Dressage.

My progress as a rider has been slow and frustrating, but trainers like Sara Schmitt and Maggie O'Leary plus the support of my friends and family have helped me continue to improve.

I was honored and privileged to complete my Century Club ride on August 19, 2026, at Sara’s beautiful farm in Annandale, New Jersey. Friends were there to cheer us on. I especially appreciate Lauren Annett who judged the ride. She made it a special occasion with her positive words at the end of the ride. I want to thank Maggie O’Leary for her constructive training as I continue my dressage journey. Sara Schmitt is an amazing teacher and role model who runs a terrific barn. Finally, too many friends to list have helped me keep going and to enjoy the dressage experience. Most of all to Dante who turns 27 this year and has been with me thru it all ❤️” - Lynn Schneemeyer

We had a GREAT day at the SSD Schooling Show! We couldn’t have asked for better weather and really enjoyed seeing all the happy horses and riders. We also had a Century Ride with our own Lynn Schneemeyer and her horse Dante! More to come on them ❤️

Huge thank you to our fearless secretary Linda Butz for all of her hard work to make this schooling show possible! To Lauren Annett for being our judge today! Thank you again to all of our volunteers, we honestly couldn’t do it without you and all of your smiling faces!

We’d love to also thank everyone that came out and supported our shows, not only today but for all of our shows this year! We’ve had some great feedback and look forward to hosting them again next year. Keep checking back for 2027 dates!

PAM GOODRICH CLINIC

Pam Goodrich is coming back this month! She is an incredible horseman with over 30+ years experience teaching and training a variety of horses and riders from training level to Grand Prix. Durning her career she has been both long and short listed with the USET and helped many people climb the levels and reach their goals. Auditors are welcome for $20 a day and there are a LIMITED number of riding sports available. PM for more details.
