We are excited to announce we will be participating in the 8th annual Ohio Hop Growers Guild hop yard open house on Saturday, July 24. Our farm will be open to the public from 10:00 am. - 12:00 p.m. Come out to visit and learn about grown Ohio Hops. All are welcome!

Spent last night training comets. The willamettes are ready too. Rest of the hop yard should be trained over the next couple days. Daily N and heat units woke these girls up!

Finally finished stringing tonight! Now we just need some heat units, these girls don’t like the 2-3 GDD we’ve had lately. Here’s to the third year

Thanks for this bad ass video of our hop yard. This year all the hard work paid off with a pretty nice looking yard. Now it’s time to harvest! Cheers! 🍻

Our Willamette plants are the first to show cones. Willamette is a variation of Fuggle. It is mainly used as an aroma hop though sometimes used for its slight bittering properties.
Typical alpha acid is 4-6% and tends to have a peppery and herbaceous spice with fruity and floral notes.
Beer varieties include American Pale and Brown Ales, English-style Ales, Stouts and Porters. If any brewers are interested in wet hops contact us.

These Willamette bines are transitioning to the reproductive growth stage as indicated by these fuzzy burrs. After the summer solstice, the shorter day length triggers slower vertical growth. The focus now will be on sidearms, or lateral shoots, where the hop cones will form from these burrs. Harvest isn’t too far away now!
