He Will Carry You

*A devotional for grandparents raising grandchildren — June 24, 2026*

Verse

"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you, and I will rescue you."
--Isaiah 46:4 (NIV)

Encouragement

You did not plan for this season. When you imagined these years, you may have pictured slower mornings, quiet evenings, a little more rest. Instead, your days are full of lunchboxes, homework, scraped knees, and questions that have no easy answers. Some days you wonder if you have enough left in you to do it well.

Hear what God says to you today: He does not hand you this calling and walk away. He promises to *carry you*. The same God who sustained you through every decade of your life has not run out of strength now. Your gray hairs are not a sign that you are too old for this — they are a testimony that you have been faithful for a long time, and He has been faithful longer.

The love you pour into your grandchildren is holy work. You are giving them stability when their world felt shaky. You are giving them a soft place to land. And while you give and give, God is quietly carrying you — steadying your steps, renewing your patience, holding you up on the days you feel you cannot stand. You are not running on your own strength. You are being held by His.

Take a breath today. You are seen. You are not alone. And the One who made you will not set you down.

Reflection

1. Where in this season do you most need to feel God carrying you right now?

2. What is one way you have already seen God provide strength you didn't have on your own?

3. What worry about your grandchildren can you hand to God today, trusting Him to sustain what you cannot control?

4. When you feel weary, what small practice helps you remember that you are being held?

5. What is one thing you are grateful for in your relationship with your grandchild today?

Some days feel heavy before they even begin. The alarm goes off, and your heart is already tired. If that’s you today, pause for a moment and breathe this truth in: God is already ahead of you.

Before you face the meeting, the appointment, the difficult conversation, or the quiet loneliness—He is there. He goes before you, stands beside you, and walks behind you. You are never navigating this life alone.

When you feel weak, His strength is enough. When you don’t have answers, His wisdom is steady. When you feel unseen, He sees every tear, every effort, every silent prayer.

Don’t measure God’s faithfulness by today’s feelings. Measure it by His promises. He has never failed you, and He won’t start now.

Whatever is weighing on your heart, place it in His hands. You don’t have to carry what He already promised to handle.

Today, choose trust over fear. Choose prayer over panic. Choose faith over doubt.

God is with you. And that changes everything.

Scripture

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint."

— Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

Encouragement

There are days when love asks more of you than your body feels ready to give. You did not plan to be raising children at this stage of life, yet here you are — packing lunches, drying tears, answering questions you thought you'd answered a generation ago. That is not a small thing. That is a holy thing.

God does not promise that you will never grow tired. He promises something better: that when your own strength runs out, His begins. The eagle in this verse does not flap harder to rise — it spreads its wings and lets the wind lift it. Today, you are invited to do the same. Stop striving to hold everything together by force, and let the Lord carry what is too heavy for your arms alone.

The child in your care is watching you lean on God. In your patience, they are learning what faith looks like. In your gentleness, they are seeing the love of the Father. You are not just getting through the day — you are shaping a soul, and you are not doing it by yourself.

Rest in this: the One who called you to this assignment will not leave you to finish it on your own.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for trusting me with this child. On the mornings I wake up weary, renew my strength. When my patience is thin, and my heart is tired, fill me with Your peace and Your power.

Help me to soar instead of strain, to lean on You instead of leaning only on myself. Give me the right words, a calm spirit, and a love that reflects Yours. Watch over this little one and let them grow up knowing they are deeply loved — by me, and by You.

I place this day, and this family, in Your hands.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

I’m Corrine Elliott, a faith‑rooted coaching counselor for grandparents 50+ who are raising their grandchildren and carrying the weight of two generations at once. I created GiGi’s Godly Legacy because I know exactly what it feels like to step back into parenting when you thought that season of life was over.

I’ve lived the late‑night worries.
I’ve lived the medical battles.
I’ve lived the exhaustion, the isolation, and the “Lord, how do I do this again” moments.

And I’ve also lived the miracles.

Through my own journey of raising a grandchild, supporting an adult child through illness, and rebuilding my home with structure, prayer, and emotional stability, God taught me how to create systems that bring peace, order, and confidence back into a grandmother’s life.

Now I coach women just like you — grandmothers, great‑grandmothers, and caregivers who love deeply but are stretched thin.

Inside GiGi’s Godly Legacy, I help you:

Rebuild structure and routines that actually work

Navigate behavior, emotions, and trauma with wisdom

Strengthen your spiritual life while caring for your family

Create a peaceful home environment

Set boundaries without guilt

Parent in today’s digital world

Stop feeling alone in this assignment

My coaching blends biblical guidance, practical tools, emotional support, and lived experience. I don’t teach theory — I teach what I’ve survived, mastered, and now pour into others.

If you’re a 50+ grandmother raising grandchildren and you’re ready for clarity, support, and God‑centered strategies that bring peace back into your home…

You’re in the right place.
And you don’t have to do this alone anymore.
