MESSAGE FOR OUR EQUISCOUTS (OLD AND NEW)!

At our 2026 orientation meeting tomorrow (Sunday, February 22nd), we will be discussing our Equiscout program and activities, deciding on our 2026 monthly topics, and meeting and greeting our discussion leaders, new friends and equine assistants! Our topic tomorrow is A Day in the Life of a Horse and how we fit in it - from the horse's point of view. There will be discussion, questions, horse handling, barn roaming, and much talk about safety! All done in a fun and casual environment! Remember our meeting runs from 2-4 in the afternoon at Brighton Farm. Come join the fun with horses and learn a bunch of new things!

REMINDER - EQUISCOUTS 2026 ORIENTATION MEETING TOMORROW 2-4 PM AT BRIGHTON FARM ! If you want to learn about horses, working with them and around them, and their care in a fun casual environment - come to our free program to check it out! Equiscouts is 18 years old and so many have learned so much and had a blast doing so!! No need to sign up, just show up! Even experienced horse kids/adults can always learn something! IT IS 2026 - YEAR OF THE HORSE - TIME TO START OUR 2026 MEETINGS!!! Kick off 2026 by learning about horses! Our Equiscouts program starts off this coming Sunday, February 22nd from 2 to 4 in the afternoon at Brighton Farm in Antioch! The program is a free, drop in, monthly program for kids (and adults) who want to learn about horses, their care and, most importantly, how to work around them safely. We do this by lecture, speakers, activities and hands on experience with our four-legged assistants! Our meetings are held monthly with new topics and activities each month. No prior experience around horses is necessary and this is not a riding experience. We have a great time each month and hold our meetings whether we have one attendee or 30 attendees! If you are interested in these magnificent animals and want to learn - come join us! This coming meeting - our first in 2026 - is set up specifically as an orientation and welcome for new members. ATTENTION EQUISCOUTS!!!!

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR A MEETING SCHEDULE CHANGE! We are so sorry, but our Equiscouts meeting is cancelled for this month. There will not be a meeting this Sunday, November 16th. We apologize for the late notice, but due to unforeseen circumstances we have no choice. We will postpone and have a holiday meeting on Sunday, December 14th instead which will be a combined Nov/Dec meeting and a holiday celebration too!!
A very happy Thanksgiving to all in the meantime!

Equiscouts meeting this Sunday, October 19th from 2-4pm at Brighton Farm! Topic for this month is horse communication! Come learn about horse speak and how they talk to us...maybe not in words we know, but we just need to learn how to "listen". Then, we will be ending the meeting with making horse cookies - for people, not horses - as a halloween treat for October! Come join the fun!

Looking to add an experienced full-time groom to our staff. Must have full-service horse care experience. Responsibilities include feeding, turnout, stall cleaning, tack up, and other barn chores. Experience driving a tractor and arena dragging a plus. No horse show attendance necessary. Normal barn hours/days.
