Woke up, bundled up, and headed to the barn in the freezing cold to feed everyoneā€¦ only to find this little surprise waiting. šŸ®ā„ļø Not exactly ideal since we prefer April/ May calving here in Illinois, but this cow came to us bred from Louisiana and had other plans. Our cows come from strong genetics and are pros at taking care of themselves. With a -20Ā° wind chill, this little calf earned herself a Carhartt jacket. Healthy calf, good mama, and another reminder that farming always keeps you on your toes.
