Here is my update on the farm as of this morning. Credit goes to The Silkie Chick, who I saw do this last month.

We have decreased our numbers in chickens since last month. I’m changing up my breeding program.

I’ve added some more turkeys and started hatching out quail.

I’ll be taking about a month break from hatching after my incubator empties. I have a couple batches of quail eggs to hatch and a couple batches of Naked Neck eggs to hatch that are already in the incubator.

None of these are for sale. This is just what I have running around the farm right now.

This isn’t ASMR. I woke up without a voice this morning. How exciting.

But more exciting news is Horseradish wasn’t killed by a hawk. She has built a nest and has been sitting. She magically appeared three days ago. I only see her in the mornings when I feed and I’m a horrible investigator so I can’t seem to follow her and find out where her nest is.

A woman local to my area has released a book on Amazon. I haven’t read it yet but my sister Leslie Brown-Ayers has and said it’s so good. I bought mine today so I could read it.

Found two hornworms in the tomatoes tonight so thought I would give the turkeys a treat.

They were very uncertain with what to think of the worms. Finally, one of the hens got brave and gave it a good peck.

Happy Heavenly Birthday to my mom. She would have been 62 today.

The Lord couldn’t have blessed me with a more beautiful and loving mother than mine. She was taken way too soon and I wasn’t ready. He needed her more and I know that.

She raised us to be the strong, independent adults that we are now and I can’t believe it’s been almost ten years that you have been gone.
