Good morning. Has anyone successfully grown potatoes from the ones from the store that you’ve forgotten??
A little backstory: I bought a 50 pound box of Idaho potatoes. We ate some and I was supposed to try to can some before they started getting eyes. That didn’t happen.
Then, I bought a bag of red potatoes. They were used for a couple of meals and then they were put in the potato box. And they were forgotten.
Well, I needed some potatoes and I bought a bag of Russets. They were used for their intended purpose and then was thrown in the box behind my kitchen door and once again, forgotten.
My husband was cleaning and organizing the kitchen and he says what’s your plan with these potatoes?? I said they have been forgotten so I think I’m gonna grow them. He built me a potato box and I cut the potatoes apart that had eyes, or whatever they are called when they get this big, and threw the rest in the compost.
Now, I’m not gonna lie. These bad boogies were supposed to go in the ground a couple days ago. They are still sitting in the box “drying” cuz I haven’t found the time to get them in the ground.
I’m gonna get them out of the cardboard box and into the potato box and ground today 🫡🫡 Scout’s Honor.
**Don’t believe me. I’m the worst with getting distracted and forgetting to get stuff done.
