Nubian Goats Our goats are lovingly raised and handled daily. The herd is health tested routinely and receives excellent preventative care.

Many of our girls are milked for our home use in making soap, cheese, yogurt, and ice cream!

We had an awesome day at the Spring Fling goat show in Newberry! No new legs to report, but as young as the herd is I was very proud of the middle of the pack placings against very tough competition. The future is bright!

Annnnnnd that’s a wrap! The final doe of Sandhill Oaks delivered a single buckling uneventfully. I’ll admit I’m glad to see the end of kidding season. Changing our methods to 100% bottle raising has been a rewarding but very challenging endeavor. We ended up with a fantastic kid crop but it has stretched our set up to the limits. There will be a lot of updates next year to make things easier and better. Our final numbers:

4 AI doelings
3 AI bucklings
5 live-cover doelings
3 live-cover bucklings

We have goats for sale and more who will be available soon. We are looking forward to getting our new doelings and first fresheners into the show ring to see how they stack up.

Another amazing morning!! Our most special Blissberry PA Defy the Dawn kidded easily with twin doelings!! These stunning ladies are vibrant and drank their first colostrum bottles like champs. They are sired by our senior herdsire, Blissberry CC Dance N’ the Dark. One of these ladies will be available to a new home once they have unfolded enough to get evaluated. Stay tuned!

We had an INCREDIBLE weekend at the Florida State Fair! Sandhill Oaks CL Ariana finally had some show time and took reserve in her class (2-3 year old milkers) both days. Blissberry CC Fire & Ice took best udder in her class of milking yearlings. Sandhill Oaks LD Sgaeyl took reserve in her class on Sunday.

To really top off the weekend though for my young herd was Sandhill Oaks LD Andarna taking Grand Champion at just 6 weeks old!!! The judge’s comment was “stunning”. A tremendous thank you to the judges, staff, all my goat friends at the fair and my amazing husband for being with me on this crazy goat adventure.

Sooo tired, but elated!! Two very anticipated kiddings happened today and I am over the moon! 100% pasturized milk bottle babies was the goal for this year and we are well on our way! I knew it would be more work, and I know it will be worth it, but hats off to those of you that do large numbers of these kids. I’m exhausted after just two does and the four kids!

Cute baby photo drop! Finally got some nice ones of Zombie’s kids. Zombie is the daughter of her late foundation doe, Paradise Farms Blueberry. These kids were sired by *B Blissberry Dance N The Dark. The black and tan doeling with solid black ears is ready to look for her own herd! Reach out if you are interested!

Two more does!! 🥳🥳. Our gorgeous moonspotted doe Zombie knocked it out of the park by easily delivering two fantastic doelings. These kids will be our first 100% pasteurized and bottle fed kids. So far it has been going great. Both kids have taken 6oz of colostrum and are about 5 hours old. They both weighed 5 pounds so I am confident they will get a full 12oz long before they hit the 24 hour mark. Colostrum was checked for good antibody levels with a Brix refractometer and heat treated prior to feeding. It took some trial and error to figure out how to adjust the sous vide to be sure the colostrum stayed at just the right temperature for a full hour. Not too hot (or you denature the antibodies) but not too cold (or it won’t be properly pasteurized). Zombie is doing great and I can’t wait to see how her udder develops.

I’m very excited about this 16 day second freshening udder on our very special Blissberry Fire & Ice! Icy is the daughter of SGCH Blissberry Hot & Spicy 6*M EX92EEEE who was the 2023 ADGA National Show 11th place 5-6 year old. Icy’s sire is *B Blissberry Coconut Cooler, the son of SGCH Blissberry Malibu Coco Cooler EX92EEEE. Malibu was the 2022 ADGA National Show 4th place aged doe and National Show Total performer!!

Icy is an incredibly sweet girl, fantastic milker and gave me a gorgeous doeling this year sired by Redwood Hills Event Petoskey. Petoskey is the son of GCH Redwood Hills Vision Tanzanite 10*M EX90EVEE and DKGH Candyman Rockin’ Event, who is the son of SGCH DKGH Rockin Eve EX92EEEE, 2023 National Show 2nd place aged doe, and My-Enchanted-Acres LM Candyman! Needless to say we are excited about seeing that baby grow up!

Awesome day at Sandhill Oaks! We saw one of our very nice baby bucklings leave for his new home and are so happy for him and his new family!

In other news, we finally rolled out our new mini-fridge lambar for a trial run. I have been so excited to try this idea so I can feed free choice cold milk to my babies! So far so good! We will see how the fridge holds up as the weather warms. Until then, babies have their fabulous warmed Igloos to stay nice and toasty tonight.

Kidding season started with a bang! After a truely terrible month battling with ketosis and hypocalcemia in my older doe, we reached the finish line right after Christmas with an easy, unassisted delivery of buck/doe twins sired by CA BlackBerry’s Lunar Dragon! This was shortly followed by doe/buck/doe triplets from my Count Luna daughter, Kendra. These kids were also sired by Lunar Dragon. The first round finished up with a highly anticipated doeling from Blissberry CC Fire & Ice sired by Redwood Hills Event Petoskey. Petoskey is the son of GCH Redwood Hills Vision Tanzanite 10*M and DKGH Candyman Rockin’ Event.
