The families of Whitehaven Farms are mourning the loss Andrew Nesbitt, our beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin and nephew. Andrew died as a result of an ATV accident as he was riding across a pasture on the farm that he loved with all his heart. Andrew, you are always in our hearts and most precious memories.

The plow left a lot of gravel in what we call the 'town square'. I started cleaning it up but my arthritis decided it was too big of a job for me. Andrew finished up the work.

The end of an era at Whitehaven Farms is witnessed today. We lost our pasture last year. The adult cattle were sold last month. This morning the feeder calves are on their way to the Maquoketa Sale Barn. We've kept back one calf to fatten up for the freezer. Those Black Angus were Bill's babies and I'm sure Bill is shedding some tears right now.

New toy came home to the farm today. A John Deere 1943 'A' tractor. Needs some work and new rubber, but don't they all. Thanks to Duane Maupin for getting it home for us. Bill's dad used to have one. We won't use it for field work but I bet it will pull a few hay rides!

My sister Kathy Arnold took a turn feeding our calf 'Easter'. She was amazed at his strength while sucking on the bottle.
