Over the past several weeks, HCAP team members have been talking with many folks in our community about civic engagement, the issues that matter to them, and how we can make information and resources more accessible.

Now, we’re excited to expand that work by hiring paid, part-time canvassers to help us reach even more people throughout our Green Bay and Appleton communities!

This is a door-to-door position focused on having conversations, sharing resources, and helping our Hmong community stay informed and engaged.

✨ $20/hour
✨ 10 hours/week
✨ Part-time through Election Day
✨ Travel between Green Bay & Appleton
✨ Bilingual in Hmong and English is a plus!

🚧 Construction is officially underway at Long Cheng Marketplace!

Thanks to support from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and its investment in small businesses and local communities, we are excited to begin our construction project, starting with improvements to our parking lot.

We also want to be transparent about how this investment works. WEDC funding is designated specifically for the approved redevelopment project and must be used in accordance with an approved project budget and grant requirements. Project expenses are fully documented and coordinated with WEDC and the contractors and vendors completing the work.

Over the years, thousands of people have walked through Long Cheng Marketplace, whether to celebrate with family, attend a community event, meet friends for lunch, shop for groceries, support a small business, or simply connect with one another. For our vendors, it is also where they meet their customers, build relationships, and grow their businesses. That kind of community foot traffic is exactly why investing in this space matters.

Intentional investments in community spaces like this matter. Keeping them strong and sustainable means creating places where Hmong entrepreneurs can grow, families can gather, and our culture can continue to have a visible home in the Fox Cities.

We are grateful to WEDC for investing in this vision and excited for our community to see the progress firsthand.

Don’t forget! Long Cheng Home Care is offering free blood pressure screenings every Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Long Cheng Marketplace.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by this week to visit with our registered nurse, Mai Ker! We loved seeing so many community members take a few minutes to check in on their health.

Starting today, stop by for a FREE blood pressure screening with a Registered Nurse (RN). No appointment needed. It's quick, easy, and open to you, your loved ones, and the elders in our community.

Yesterday, we celebrated an exciting milestone for Long Cheng MarketPlace as we officially kicked off a transformational renovation project that will expand opportunities for small businesses, enhance the visitor experience, and further establish the marketplace as a vibrant destination for the Fox Cities.

This project is an investment in our local economy. Every year, Long Cheng MarketPlace welcomes thousands of visitors from across Wisconsin and around the country, generating foot traffic that supports local businesses, attracts tourism, and contributes to the continued economic vitality of our region.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this special moment. We are especially grateful to the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, City of Appleton Government, Hmong American Partnership Fox Valley, our community partners, vendors, project team, elected officials, and everyone who has supported this vision along the way. You all make this work possible!

We're excited for what's ahead! Renovations are set to begin in the next few weeks, and we look forward to sharing our progress as we continue building a stronger Long Cheng MarketPlace for our community.
