I’m always interested in places where you can grab a specialty drink, sit down for an actual breakfast, and just enjoy yourself for a bit. That’s exactly what we wanted to check out here.

Of course, I couldn’t just order coffee. 😂 We had to try some of the food, too! Between the breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast, and specialty drinks, we ended up with a pretty nice spread on the table.

One thing I really enjoy about visiting places like this is seeing how much effort goes into the little details. From the presentation of the drinks to the way the food comes out, those things really do add to the experience.

And as much as I love a good coffee, having some solid breakfast options to go along with it makes a coffee shop that much more appealing.

I think there’s a big misunderstanding about the difference between restaurant reviewers, influencers, and content creators. And since this conversation keeps coming up, I figured I’d share a little perspective.

Here’s something that might surprise some people. Josh and Casey are influencers. Dang! That’s Awesome is a content creation business. Yes, there’s a difference!

As influencers, we share our experiences, recommend places we love, and hopefully inspire people to get out and try something new.

But Dang! That’s Awesome is also a business. We work with restaurants, attractions, hotels, and other businesses to create professional marketing content that helps them reach new audiences. That’s a service, just like hiring a photographer, videographer, or marketing agency.

And then there are restaurant reviewers, whose job is to evaluate their experience and share their opinions. That’s valuable too!

None of these roles is better than the other. They just serve different purposes. And there’s plenty of room for all of them.

We absolutely believe in supporting local businesses. We spend our own money at restaurants and attractions all the time. But supporting a business as a customer and providing that business with a professional marketing service are two completely different things.

At the end of the day, we respect all three. We just think it’s important that people understand the difference.

Stopped at Gilles in Fond du Lac and grabbed a vanilla shake. Nothing crazy, just one of those classic Wisconsin stops that’s been doing its thing forever.

Gilles has been in Fond du Lac since 1949, when Tom Gilles opened the stand serving frozen custard and Gillieburgers. The drive-in setup came later, and it’s still kept that old-school feel with carhop service, which is probably a big reason it’s become such a local landmark.

The vanilla shake was exactly what I wanted. Thick, simple, and good. Sometimes the places with the most history are the ones that don’t need to overcomplicate anything.

We had dinner at The Cellar District in Fond du Lac tonight and this place was awesome. The whole setup inside the old church is really cool, but more importantly the food was seriously good.

I had the Mediterranean pasta and Casey had the bacon burger with cheese curds on it. Both were really good, and this is definitely one of those spots I’d go back to.

🍻 CRAFT B**R, LIVE MUSIC, AND A NIGHT OUT IN DOWNTOWN RIPON!

Looking for something fun to do tonight? The 5th Annual Rhythm & Brews Craft B**r Celebration is taking over Historic Downtown Ripon, Wisconsin, and it sounds like a pretty awesome way to kick off the weekend!

We’re talking over 40 different craft b**rs from breweries across Wisconsin and beyond! Your tasting passport gets you up to 14 samples as you make your way through participating downtown businesses. So you can sip some seasonal brews, check out the local shops, and maybe discover a new favorite b**r along the way!

🎸 And the fun doesn’t stop there! Reverend Raven & The Chain Smokin’ Altar Boys featuring Westside Andy will be bringing FREE live blues music to Knuth Brewing Company from 6–9 PM!

Oldie but goodie! 😂

A few years ago, we were cruising on the Disney Dream and made a stop in George Town, Grand Cayman. And let me tell you, the water there is absolutely unreal! Crystal clear, bright blue, and straight out of a postcard.

One of the highlights was getting up close and personal with the stingrays at Stingray City. Casey was having a great time until one of these guys decided to get a little TOO friendly. 😂

This is one of those experiences we still laugh about years later. And honestly, it’s exactly why we love traveling. You never know what kind of memories you’re going to come home with!

So I’ve gotta ask. Would you get in the water with these guys, or are you staying on the boat? 😂

Ever had a Mocha Mary before? ☕️😂

Because this might be one of the most ridiculous coffee creations I’ve ever had, and I mean that as a compliment.

We stopped at Door County Coffee & Tea and this thing immediately caught my attention. Their Mocha Mary basically takes the idea of an over-the-top Bloody Mary and turns it into breakfast and coffee. You’ve got an iced mocha on the bottom, then an actual breakfast sandwich, a frosted donut, a brownie AND a strawberry stacked on top. Look at this thing. 😂

And apparently I’m not exaggerating when I call it breakfast. Door County Coffee actually lists the Mocha Mary right on their breakfast menu for $24.

This is exactly the kind of goofy, fun stuff I love finding around Door County. You walk in thinking you’re grabbing a coffee and somehow leave holding an entire meal on top of it.
