A quick stop in downtown Louisville turned into one of those places where I kept finding something else I wanted to photograph.

We were really only passing through, but downtown has a ton of personality packed into a pretty small area. The Louisville Slugger Museum is impossible to miss with that giant bat leaning against the building, and just a few blocks away you start seeing bourbon everywhere. Old barrels, historic storefronts, tasting rooms, and buildings that look like they’ve been part of the city forever.

I especially loved how much of the older architecture is still here. You can walk a couple blocks and go from baseball history to Kentucky bourbon to some seriously cool old buildings without ever really leaving the same neighborhood.

We definitely didn’t have enough time to really explore Louisville the way I wanted to, but this quick stop convinced me that we need to come back and spend a full day here.

While traveling last week we made a quick stop at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. As a bourbon fan this has always been on my list of places to stop. We didn’t do the tour but next time for sure. This kids referred to it as “Dad’s Bourbonland”

Also seeing all of these bottles of Blantons on a shelf blew my mind.

We stayed at the Cambria Hotel Nashville Airport last night and this place was seriously awesome.

The whole hotel has a really cool modern vibe with an aviation theme throughout. Our room was clean, the bed was super comfortable, and it even had this huge airplane mural behind the bed.

But my favorite part was definitely the guitar-shaped outdoor pool. The hotel sits right at the end of the runway at Nashville International Airport, so while you’re hanging out at the pool, planes are take off SUPER low right over the hotel. If you’re an aviation nerd at all, you’re going to love it. 😂✈️

They also have a really nice fitness center, plenty of places to hang out around the hotel, and Hangar Bar + Kitchen right downstairs.

Another nice bonus: if you’re an Expedia platinum member, you can get a $15 food credit with your stay to use toward food at the hotel every day you are here!.

We really enjoyed staying here. It’s close to the airport, easy to get into Nashville, and honestly just a really fun hotel.
