Happy Monday!!!

Send us a message if you are interested in picking up a dozen eggs, herbs or wildflowers. We answer in the order of those that reach out. It couldn’t be easier…your order will be on our doorstep for you.

➡️Eggs are $7 a dozen (even if you rarely find them at a lower cost than this, eggs that are produced in mass for big box stores are sadly depleted of nutrients).

➡️Pick up is simple from our doorstep. You can leave cash under the red boots 😉 or we also take Venmo (QR code is on the back of the business card with the egg carton). In some cases, we are happy to meet to hand deliver.

➡️We have an abundance of organic cilantro and rosemary available for purchase for $2 a bunch. 🌿

➡️Jars of wildflowers are available for $15 a jar. 💐

We can’t wait for the harvest of more veggies and fruits in a few months!

➡️HEN FEATURE OF THE WEEK!!!!

Meet Linda! She is our oldest at 5 years old and still lays eggs every few days. She is our original and part of our very first hens that started our new flock at Red Boots Farm in 2020. She appreciates the lace curtains and her personality is shy, though she will eat out of my hand. If you have purchased eggs from us, more than likely you will have her eggs in your carton. They are a creamy light brown. Here is a little more about her breed (never mind about her having the dual purpose…she will live a long happy life being pampered, not as meat):

“Australorps are a dual-purpose Australian chicken breed known for their egg-laying abilities and suitability for meat. Developed in the late 1800s and early 1900s, the breed is a cross between black Orpingtons and other breeds that excel at laying eggs. The name “Australorp” combines “Australia” and “Orpington”. In the US, Australorps are only recognized in black, but other colors exist elsewhere.”

Red Boots has gone through many changes over its existence but we are settling into some wonderful stability. We moved from Aptos to Scotts Valley in January 2024. And once we were unpacked, we rebuilt the chicken run and coop. We dreamed and started phase one. This included planting multiple fruit trees, enjoying and nurturing the existing ones, adding raised beds and getting through a couple seasons to gauge sunlight and soil.

We have eight amazing hens that lay every day. And we are beginning to add phase 2, to be able to sell fruit, veggies, herbs, flowers, and more.

We are anticipating that 2025 is going to be epic.

Thank you for your support through the years and through the changes! I actually think it has gone exactly how it was meant to go and I’m so grateful for it all! Stay tuned for more…

It’s time!!!! We are ready to make flower deliveries! Make someone’s day and place an order! You can pick up or I can deliver anywhere in Santa Cruz county. Here are the deets:

-you pick color of the jar
-you say what you want in a handwritten card
-flower jars are made to order and include seasonal flowers (lots of zinnias right now!)
-$25 total!
-send pm for payment arrangements and address for delivery
-same or next day delivery
