Most people are cutting seed oils from their diet. Not everyone realizes the beef they are buying might be undoing that effort.
Grain-finished cattle are fed corn and soy in the feedlot. Those grains are high in Omega-6 fatty acids. When cattle eat them, the Omega-6 content of the meat goes up and the Omega-3 content goes down.
Grass-finished cattle eat what they were designed to eat. The fat profile stays closer to what nature intended: more Omega-3s, more CLA, less Omega-6.
If you are reading labels on your cooking oils, it is worth knowing how your beef was finished too.
At Marview Farms, every animal is 100% grass-finished on AGA Certified, chemical-free Georgia pasture.
