Wingwood Farm was started by Karen Smith in 1974. For over 50 years our family has bred Nubians dairy goats.

We strive for dairy, milky goats with lots of structural correctness.

Tale of two buyers:

This is a PSA for not only those interested in Wingwood genetics, but genetics from any established herd. Breeders know their animals best! All breeders want their animals to go to other herds and do good things!

Buyer 1:
Purchases buck kid, buck kid develops wry jaw. I offer to replace kid. Next spring I offer buyer buck kid from relatively unknown Sweet Avril or GCH Lovin Avignon. Buyer takes time getting back to me. In meantime I chose to nominate Avignon buck to spotlight sale. Inform buyer tell her Avril buck is still available, no response, try multiple times no response. I offer the kid to another buyer they snap him up. Summer show season and appraisal happen Avril is 1st place 3 yr old NS, EX93. Buyer tells other breeders that the buck she was offered was not as good as the one she bought. Next spring ask me for a refund of the money. I said no.

Buyer 2: Messages me about my sale asks what buck I would recommend for her. I immediately say Cool Tiptoes. At that time Tiptoes biggest claim to fame was being cut from the two year old class at the national show, but I knew she was my best doe. Buyer immediately buys the buck in the click to claim sale. CH(pending) Cool Tiptoes goes on the be shown 4 times this year: 4xGCH, 2XBDIS, 1xBUIS

Who needs a buck? I have four young bucks that I have kept around because you know what’s a couple more goats 🤣😵‍💫. If you are interested in milk any of these buck will fit that bill

2026 California State Fair Group Classes.

I love group classes I think they really show the collective achievements of breeding programs. Our herd was able to field 1 best three, 2 dairy herds, 3 dam and daughters, 2 produce of dams, 4 senior get of sires and 4 junior get of sires with help from fellow breeders Sweet 2 By 2 Dairy Goats & Babydolls, Smithen Farms and Franzi Farms.

2026 California State Fair is in the books!

The does showed up!! Thankful for my family, Tam and Trinity and my goat family (Sarah, Julia, Nora, Marylin, Clarissa, Joanie, Minna, Tiff, Tam, Jess and more)that help me/ enable me so I can show ridiculous numbers of animals. All told 33 animals entered the ring.
Show results will be posted later, but here is a sneak peak👀🤩

💙❤️Meet Marcella. You might say “why Fauna, that’s not a Nubian”, and you would be right. Marcella lives at my farm and belong to my friend Leafy Hill. She is 3/4 Alpine, 1/4 La Mancha. What is Marcella’s claim to fame? SHE IS THE LOUDEST GOAT ON A NUBIAN FARM🤣📢📣
