Let’s take a moment to appreciate the oyster mushroom.

Oyster mushrooms are one of the most versatile mushrooms you can cook with. Throw them in a stir fry, pasta, soup, tacos, on pizza, or just sauté them with a little butter and garlic. Their texture and flavor make them a favorite in just about any dish.

They may also support:
• Immune health
• Heart health
• Healthy cholesterol levels already within the normal range
• Antioxidant activity
• Overall wellness

Here’s something else that’s pretty cool…

Scientists have even studied oyster mushrooms to see if they can help break down certain plastics as part of environmental cleanup efforts. It’s still being researched, but it really shows how amazing fungi can be.

People often ask what happens to our spent mushroom blocks. The answer? They go right into our compost pile!

Every now and then, if the conditions are just right, a block in the compost pile will surprise us with another flush of mushrooms.

It doesn’t happen every time, but it’s always a fun reminder that mushrooms like to do things on their own schedule.
