One cloak. Two people kept warm.
While serving as a Roman soldier in what is now France, Martin came upon a man shivering on a bitterly cold day. He cut his cloak in half and shared it with him—a simple act of kindness remembered centuries later.
Celebrated on November 11, St. Martin’s Day brings traditions of glowing lanterns, shared treats, autumn food, and new w**e to communities across Europe.
At its heart is a lesson for all ages: you don’t have to have a lot to share a little warmth.
We’re bringing that spirit to Woolly Yak with our ST. MARTIN’S LANTERN & GIVING WEEKEND, November 7 & 8!
Come with family, gather friends, enjoy a fall date, or join us on your own. Make a lantern, enjoy hearty European-inspired food, and walk together at twilight. We’ll also be introducing a new w**e for the occasion!
SATURDAY & SUNDAY | NOVEMBER 7 & 8
All day — Goose scavenger hunt & giving station
11 AM–1 PM — Complimentary lantern making
1:30–2 PM — Folklore & storytelling
2–2:30 PM — Pots-and-pans parade, followed by sharing cookies
2:30–2:45 PM — St. Martin’s New W**e Toast
3:30–5 PM — Complimentary lantern making
5:15 PM — Pots-and-pans parade / twilight lantern walk, followed by sharing cookies
Lantern making is for all ages; limited kits are available, first come, first served.
Want to share some warmth? Bring new or gently used hats, gloves, mittens, or coats in sizes from infant through adult for local children and families. Giving is optional; everyone is welcome.

Saturday: 11 AM–7 PM
Sunday: 11 AM–6 PM
