As much as we love sharing the good times, some days are just sad days on the farm too.

Today, we had a freak accident happen resulting in the loss of our upcoming doe, Celeste. My dream doeling I always wanted, and who carried her Sires bloodline to carry on Mozzy's legacy here on the farm. It came as a huge shock, however sometimes accidents happen and there's nothing we could have done. We take blame and try our best to improve so accidents like this one does not happen again.

While it was a sad day, I did notice the boers were out grazing earlier than normal ( usually they graze early morning and evening due to this lovely FL heat) and thats when I noticed Sabrina, her dam out grazing. Now Celeste and her Dam were still very close, it wasnt her out grazing that was abnormal ( though time of day it was) it was who was beside her and stayed with her. When I looked out and noticed, I noticed it was Liberty who was with her. They normally do not graze together, however today they were, and continued for the rest of the day. I think then I started to tear up. All I could say to myself was," Sweet girl, thats exactly what your mama would have done."

& that is why they were out during the time they were. I tr uly believe it. Lib must have known and got the herd out there somehow, even Rorschach. It warmed my heart and brought peace knowing Sabrina will be okay. Even leaders have to mourn, and a friend is needed. Even if its grazing quietly. My heart hurts losing a member of our herd,, and for Bri, but it looks like she has an amazing herd and Liberty at her side.

Im proud of Ms Liberty. She is following in her mamas hoofprints ❤️
