⚠️ Important Update for Florida Cattle Producers
The USDA has reported a possible New World Screwworm (NWS) case in South Texas. Confirmatory test results are expected soon, and federal, state, and industry partners are actively monitoring the situation.
If a case is confirmed, it could impact:
🔹 Livestock movement
🔹 Inspection and treatment requirements
🔹 Animal identification
🔹 Permitting and documentation
What you can do right now:
✅ Monitor your livestock closely for any signs of NWS
✅ Report any suspected cases to your state veterinarian immediately
✅ Stay informed through official updates at www.screwworm.gov
