What do you thinkā€”can a jar of honey really stay good forever, or does it eventually need to be thrown away?

Hereā€™s an easy way to make the first cool evenings feel a little more like fall. šŸŽ

Honey-Cinnamon Apples

2 apples, sliced
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon honey
Ā½ teaspoon cinnamon
Small pinch of salt

Melt the butter in a skillet, add the apples, and cook until they begin to soften. Stir in the honey, cinnamon, and salt, then cook for another minute or two.

Serve them warm by themselves, over oatmeal, or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Simple ingredientsā€”and a good drizzle of real honey makes all the difference. šŸÆ

Pulling the last honey of the season feels like the finish lineā€”but thereā€™s still plenty of work ahead.

Once the honey comes off, our attention shifts completely back to the bees. Weā€™ll be checking food stores, watching mite levels, and making sure every colony is as strong as possible heading into winter.

The honey harvest may be ending, but caring for the bees never really does. šŸšŸÆ

Honey bees really do sleep!

Like us, bees need periods of rest. Their sleep patterns depend partly on their age and job within the colony.

Older worker bees that leave the hive to gather nectar and pollen tend to rest more at night, when they arenā€™t out foraging.

Younger bees working inside the hive may rest at different times throughout the day and night.

Even inside a busy colony, thousands of hardworking bees still need a little downtime. šŸšŸ’¤
