Woodburn officially arrives at Saratoga!

The son of Good Magic completed his pre-training program this week and has now joined trainer Chad Brown’s Saratoga division, marking an exciting new chapter in his development.

Trainer Chad Brown reports that all is well with the c**t as he transitions into full race training.

Black Tie Optional looking strong during today’s gate workout breezing a strong 5/8 in 1:00.40 while on the inside of Faran. After a bit more conditioning, we expect he will be race ready with an eye on Del Mar.

Congrats to Golden Tempo; winner of this years Belmont Stakes! Cherie DeVaux makes history becoming the first woman trainer to win two of the three legs of the Triple Crown. Jockey Jose Ortiz again orchestrates a brilliant ride from last to first.

Black Tie Optional is looking sharp!!

Black Tie Optional had his first work at Santa Anita Park, breezing three furlongs in :36.60 while on the inside of Gamine ‘23. The goal was to get the duo acclimated to the new surface, which is why we saw the cut back to 3/8 despite both previously having breezed two half-miles at Los Alamitos. We expect he will be firing back next week with a half-mile workout.

Woodburn Breeze Report

Woodburn breezed this morning at Ian Brennan Stables, and looked excellent working outside of his stable mate. He was clearly going much easier of the two and was under a tight hold throughout from his rider.

In the next few weeks, Woodburn will make his way to Saratoga to continue his next phase of training.

Woodburn Update

Taking a dip grows in popularity as the summer heat creeps closer. Woodburn continues to build strength and conditioning on the aqua walker, which provides additional fitness training under low-impact conditions. He is expected to breeze once more over the weekend, and then travel to New York shortly thereafter.
