We were very honored to be selected to create a new memorial for James Dean. The Winslow Family (James was raised by his Aunt and Uncle) entrusted us with the creative direction, allowing us the freedom to conceptualize a fitting tribute. We chose to create a distinctive “wooden” picture frame crafted from a unique stone which mimics the rich texture of maple wood. Supporting this artistic frame is a hand-sculpted base designed to give the impression of a naturally occurring boulder emerging from the earth. The monument stands just over five feet high. The front of the monument, featuring an iconic movie portrait of James Dean, serves a dual purpose: it acts as both a tribute and a navigational guide for visitors seeking his final resting place as James points the way to his grave. The back of the monument represents Dean’s diverse interests celebrating his legacy beyond his cinematic contributions.

After retiring from General Motors Frank Harlow, from Vandalia, Ohio, went on to become a world-renowned guitar builder. He specialized in resonator (Dobro) guitars. For his monument we created a life sized Harlow guitar using a new stone from India that looks like maple wood.

Growing up in Wi******er, Indiana Paul Durham became a Reds fan at a very young age. So young that he would often get sent to bed before the games were over. But Paul's sister, Deanna, had a radio in her room and Paul would sneak into her room and listen to the game. They would often find him asleep on her floor the next morning. After Paul and his wife Lisa were married they moved to West Chester, Ohio and Lisa became a fan of both the Reds and downtown Cincinnati. It is estimated that Paul attended well over 100 Reds games in his life. When Paul passed away in 2018 Lisa came to us and we made a monument for two Cincinnati fans.

Charles and Carol Knox greatly enjoyed their home. Their house was their shared hobby. So we created a memorial that allows them to look out the front window for eternity.

Kenny and Lenora Martindale were married for 68 years. The majority of that time they spent working together in their food market. Their store was shut down going on 20 years ago but they operated from the early 1920's until 2005. They passed within a year of each other recently and we had the honor of making their monument. Their Food Market was an icon in West Milton so we decided to recreate the market. We removed the front wall of the building and hand etched a scene that anyone walking in the front door of the store would have seen when the store was open - Kenny behind the meat counter and Lenora at the cash register. A scene that most of the town is familiar with. They happened to have an amazingly good picture of Kenny's father and grand-father (who started the business) so we laser etched it on the back of the stone.

Mike Ullery caught us installing a monument for the Jack Black family in the Riverside Cemetery in Troy. This is a double sided eleven foot tall, fifteen foot wide, fifty thousand pound family memorial with a forty five inch tall double sided bronze cross in the opening. Jack's individual marker has water jet cut Barre Grey granite letters recessed into a Jet Black granite tablet.

Thanks to Rob & Karen DeVilbiss for choosing us to create a custom monument for their family in the Riverside Cemetery of Troy, Ohio. The three eagles in the diamond etched scene (by an artist's hand) on the back of their monument represent their three sons.

These cats were hand etched by our artist - plus one lazy one laying over the family name on the back.
