Cafe Phoenix It is our goal to provide our customers with good, healthy food that is farm fresh & locally sourced and so much more.

Our goal is to work directly with our local farmers (meat, dairy and produce), as well as our local beer and wine makers to create a menu for you that will be seasonally inspired, healthy and delicious. Our menu will change on a regular basis to accommodate the season and what is available in our area. In addition, we will be offering an extensive beverage menu featuring unique and healthy smoothie combinations, warm beverages to nurture the body and soul, coffee and espresso from Humboldt Bay Coffee Co.

First off, what a fantastic summer this has been. Between the hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant, special cake orders and catering jobs, this past summer felt reminiscent of how the restaurant industry once was. We loved seeing our space so full.

The change of seasons also brings change to everyone’s schedules and now that everyone is settling back into their routines, we are finally decompressing from the past few months. For months we have been discussing and planning how we want to see things evolve for Phoenix. Although we are almost always able to meet the demands of a busy brunch service, it has become clear that the way we are doing it isn’t very sustainable anymore. In the 11 years that this family run business has been growing, we have carved our place into this community and in doing so have overextended ourselves a little. We have a small kitchen with a limited amount of storage and the fact that we have maintained the menu that we have for as long as we have is nothing short of magic. Our goal and focus has always been to bring seasonal, quality, thoughtfully sourced and well balanced meals to the table in a way that allows our customers to enjoy the many bounties of our area, as well as support and showcase our local farmers and small businesses.

With the colder months approaching, we have decided to change our hours a little so we can focus on some exciting additions to the cafe. Starting this week, we will be CLOSED on Mondays and Tuesdays. I know this might be a little disappointing, but necessary for us to find balance in the many things we want to achieve. We hope to make up for it in other ways.

We have many projects in the works right now that we are excited to share when they are ready, including a new menu, grab and go case, website, organizing a monthly “Supper Club” and renting out our space for special events and catering

Oftentimes growth means compromise and to continue to thrive in this crazy economy, we need to pivot and evolve.

We have had such a great time catering this week. Tonight we hosted a rehearsal dinner with Cuban inspired food. It’s been such an amazing experience to be working and collaborating with such creative and hardworking people in bringing these visions together.
