Two years ago putting our beautiful cattle farm, built mostly by Dave, to journey to Southern Idaho, all during Covid. What you wouldn’t do to see more of your grandchildren. Now our subdivision here was built on farmland. Land out here is not cheap.

Well for those who don’t already know sadly we no longer have our beautiful 56 acre farm built mostly by Dave to include part of the house. It was hard after 15 years to give that up and move 2100 miles and live in a subdivision built on land like our farm and the view is no longer acreage but neighbors back window and fence. We did it to be able to have a chance to see grandchildren more than staying here especially since they aren’t traveling during Covid. Three of our cattle are at our corner neighbor farm and she has them as pets. Annie and her two babies now growing up. Anita Brown thanks for letting the only cow we named live our her natural life. Nice young couple purchased the property except for back forty acres that another person bought off Bryant Rd.

Well the new young owner of half our property Appx 18 acres loves it. Has free range chicken, miniature cows etc. keeps in touch with Dave.

5 Jan 2021 marked the end of a 15 year 'ride' at Miller Green Acres farm in Ardmore, TN on Stateline of AL/TN. The back forty sold and we closed.

Closed 😢😞🙏🧑‍🌾🐗🚜as of 28 July 2020. Thanks for your support. It is with sadness to leave the beautiful farm that Dave literally built but we could not pass up opportunity to have a chance to build into the lives of grandchildren in Idaho and haven relationship with them.Yes I said THEM plural, as a new little Miller due 15 Nov. Son Jon safely returned from his deployment and son Matt still flying and praying for no furlough.

Miller Green Acres is almost in the record books. After 16 years of beef cattle farming Dave is moving on to greener pastures...no pun intended. This week begins a five day journey to Kuna,Idaho a suburb of Boise where we will be intentional grandparents and can’t wait. First have to make it through quarantine. Looking forward to making new friends, planting in a new church, getting involved in prayer ministry, exploring the area, and if we need cows they are only 1/2 mile away. Kind of a sad time for Farmer Dave yet a happy time knowing what awaits in Idaho. Dave has lived his dream of having his own farm and working hard, hard, hard for 17 years in addition to his full time job on Redstone Arsenal. Many ask why would you give up this beautiful place and the reason is family ties are strong. Getting the blessing of being able to have a part in our grandchildren lives is more important than all the cattle on a thousand hills. So a week from today the moving van(Uhaul) will be loaded in the drive way awaiting departure after closing on Tuesday morning 28 July and westward ho as our caravan of Uhaul pulling Subuaru Outback and me driving the F150 sets off for a new adventure. Prayers appreciated. 8 August after getting unloaded, getting utilities turned on, maybe meeting a neighbor, and getting drivers licenses on 4 August we fly back to pick up the F 250 and any straggling items. Pray for Dave please during this transition time. He will continue with I3 out in Kuna in his home office on a part time basis. New church will be One Life Nampa, I have touched base with Moms in Prayer in a member role for now. 21 years is a long place to live somewhere and I am grateful even during cover 19 that I have been able to see most of my closes friends for one final get together and hugs. I will be back since I can fly standby but not till quarantine is over cause every time I would come back I would have to quarantine for 14 days before I could see Amelia. No way am I doing that. Lets pray for the life without this awful disease to go away. Join in with . We called our farm Miller Green Acres and I tell my baby boomer friends who remember the TV show Green Acres I was the character Lisa played by Zsa Zsa Gabor but Dave was no where close to Mr Douglas played by Eddie Albert. Dave has a degree in Ag Engineering from Penn State and used to be FFA president in High school and would make a terrific FFA advisor in Idaho. Where we are moving there are farms everywhere so maybe Dave can get to still drive a John Deere again. Cattle gone, equipment gone, but memories stay alive. Ok folks the farm is for sale but Covid 19 is not helping much. God is in control, we are still moving to Idaho and house there closes 26 June but sure would love a buyer before then. Ok no longer a secret. After 15 years getting to use his AG Engineering degree from Penn State and live the farming country life we are selling out to move to Idaho to be closer to our granddaughter and do some babysitting , snow skiing, etc etc. we have blessings on the other end so no worries not invading their space or unwelcome. Having home built in Kuna, Idaho near Boise already found dynamic new church like Highlands part of Association of Related Churches with 900 church plants as of yesterday their 20th anniversary. One Life Church Nampa. And found Moms in Prayer and Grandmas in Prayer groups. After 21 years here we set off on a new adventure in late June and a new season of life. Is Dave retiring? Not necessarily. Home goes on market 15 March through Butler realty in Ardmore but for now for sale by owner to include cattle, tractors, equipment. This will be first time military doesn’t foot the bill for the move so U Haul Here we come. Text DAVE or private message me if interested and share wherever God leads you. And pray for us ok.?
