Our Story
Schneible Maple has its beginnings over twelve years ago with a father + son school project that soon ebbed into a “maple addiction”. The man behind it is sugarmaker Chip Schneible, born and raised in Greenwich, NY.
Schneible Maple’s humble beginnings of a homemade pan on a woodstove, turned into a pastoral 12x16 sugarhouse (seen today from Route 49 in Argyle), that quickly turned into a 36x40 sugarhouse and large wood fired evaporator.
In 2018, Chip sold the original site and purchased ‘Dutchtown Farm’, also known as ‘Hart’s Farm’, a 150 acre ex-dairy farm in the Cossayuna Highlands of Argyle, NY, a much beloved piece of land, where his Scotch roots run deep.
Today Schneible Maple is a growing, family run sugaring operation. As of March 2019, Schneible Maple is a USDA Certified Organic Maple Farm: Certified by BOF of Massachusetts. Schneible Maple is also home to the 2019 Upper Hudson Maple Queen.
