The other side of raising animals is raising the kids that show them. It's not always about goats in this house. We have raised hardworking and athletic kids.
Enjoyed a great season for these girls. They made it to the sub state championship game and took runner up. It was a hard game for this team and I can't wait to see what they do next year.

My favorite time of year is watching all the babies play. You wait 5 long months and this years kids didn't disappoint.

These two girls have impressed me since they were born. Growing like weeds and solid little does. I am excited to see what they look like in just a month of growth. Two weeks old and showing potential.

Meeko and Misha the first two little girls of 2026. They are stout pretty little things that I was not ready for from this doe. I was watching another one like a hawk for kids. I guess I need to stop watching, like the old saying goes a watched pot never boils.

Kade is an almost 9 month old Boer wether. He was picked to be one of our show wethers for our county fair but had a very rough start. He got Coccidiosis and we fought to get him back into shape but he wasn't going to make weight. He is finally back to growing and putting on weight. We have kept him to get him healthy again and now would make a great pet for someone. He is easy to handle, loves scratches, and will try to sit in your lap. If interested please reach out.

When your kids are aging out and only have 2 more years, you stake claim on one of your nieces to be the next Harrod Valley showman. She will be coming into show as Sawyer heads out. She has 2 great showman who can teach her how it is done

This 4-H Sunday at the Cowley County Fair, Harrod Valley is feeling thankful. We started this journey not knowing where we would go and what we were doing. Our program still has a way to go to be at our goals, but with faith and hard work we will get there and beyond. We can't do this crazy life without God, family and our buyers. We appreciate you all.

Harrod Valley hung some banners this year. Overall reserve champion breeding doe. Grand and reserve champion bred and owned breeding doe. Grand champion bred and owned market wether.

Harrod Valley is in full project mode with our County Fair coming up at the end of the month. If you have teenagers you know how hard it is to get them motivated. The youngest Harrod showman is learning how to tack weld one of her craft projects together.
