We adopted our new livestock quardian dog over a month ago and finally have some good pictures to share of her. She is a Karakachan which is an ancient guardian breed from Bulagaria. She is just turning 6 months old and we named her Bailey. She has a lot to learn about guarding our alpacas and Gus (our male Maremma) has been a good teacher. As you can see, they play pretty hard together. It is so fun watching Gus play again

Sadly, we lost our Chewbacca (Chewy) on Wednesday due to a heart defect that was diagnosed a couple of years ago. He was a much-loved alpaca, not only by us, but by our farm visitors. He loved people, especially the little ones. He had many selfies taken during his 15 years and really liked to ham it up in front of a camera. Chewy will be greatly missed 😢
