BROWN HACKLE LODGE HAS BEEN THE HOME OF THE QUILL AND PARCHMENT WRITER'S RETREAT.
The new January 2021 issue vol. 235 of Quill and Parchment our 19-year-old Literary and Cultural Arts Journal is now Live on the internet.
Our featured poet is Bakul Banerjee.
With additional poetry by Christine Swanberg, Annie Jenkin, Michael Escoubas, Sheri Lindner, Scott Shaffer, Deenaz P. Coachbuilder and Jeannie E. Roberts.
Our poetry prompt "Shelter in Place" brought an array of poems in several formats. They include poetry by Sharmagne Leland-St. John, Maralee Gerke, Marcel Aime Duclos, Vaughn Neeld, Mark Fleisher and Mary Jo Balistreri.
Our Ekphrastic Poetry section based on the painting "Walking Rain" by Terry Davis features poems by Sharmagne Leland-St. John, Paulette Demers Turco, Michael Escoubas, Joan Alice Wood Kimball, Barbara Robinette, Gail Denham and Wayne Lee. Terry was our featured artist for vol.193 ~ July 2017.
Rounding out the poetry section, Mark Fleisher contributed a Cinquain and a Haiku Marcel Aime Duclos has contributed a Haiku and Charlotte Digregorio a Senyrü and a Tanka.
Our Book review section includes reviews of “The Afternoon of The Elephant and Other Poems” by Luis Benítez. reviewed by Neil Leadbeater
and
“The Ones Within” by Sean Lause and “Rain in Plural: Poems”
by Fiona Sze-Lorrain both reviewed by Michael Escoubas.

Our Recipe section treats you to recipes for a Sweet and Spicy Cheese and Crackers with Fig Butter and a Black Lentil Stew with Yellow Corn Niblets from the kitchen of Sharmagne Leland-St.John.
Our Featured Photographer is Finnish photographer Helga-Marie.
It somehow all came together through the computer skills of Sara Wadington (Webmistress Extraordinaire) and never tiring editor Gail Dunda and ever-watchful Michael Escoubas.
