Merry Christmas to you and your family and thank you for your support of our farm this year! We are grateful for a wonderful year and look forward to 2026.
This year, we added some pigs to our barn. Our oldest daughter bought a sow and started a nice small business of selling weaned pigs locally. We’ve been buying all of our pigs from her, which we appreciate because we know exactly how they’ve been fed and handled since birth (and before!). We’re planning to continue offering pork this year. Based on the seasonality of pig breeding, it will be available about every 6-7 months. We will be building a wait list, so don’t wait too long to reserve a half hog.
Our cows will all be having calves in the spring. For now, they’re mostly relaxing in the barn for the winter. They’re happy to be out of the rain eating up the grass hay that we made for them over the summer. We have steers available every few months this year, starting in January.
We survived the Stillaguamish River flood this month with minimal damage! We are very thankful to a group of friends who came to help us get ready. This was a bigger flood than we’ve had in a few years and we had to keep water out of the barn to protect the pigs and calves. Our friends helped us sandbag around our house and barn to make sure the water was diverted into the field and around us. Many thanks to them and their hard work! We have a few logs and branches in the fields where they don’t belong, and a little piece of field was eaten away by the river, but all in all it was very minimal.
Our new website is up and running at www.HarvestValleyWA.com . Check it out for information about our farm, meat offerings, prices, and pictures. We are not accepting credit card payments on it (only check and cash still) as credit card fees are high and we’re trying to keep our costs as low as possible.
Like our page for pictures and updates too!
Thank you for your support and the opportunity to earn your business year after year. We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
