I receive quite a few messages asking about The Barn Nanny, what I do, how my services work, and what you can expect when you trust me with your animals and home. I thought it was time for an updated Q&A!
🐴 What is The Barn Nanny?
I am a caregiver for your animals while you're away enjoying your vacation, weekend getaway, or family trip. I specialize in backyard farms and hobby farms—horses, ponies, donkeys, goats, chickens, ducks, alpacas, pigs, barn kitties, farm dogs, and more!
🐶 Do I care for dogs?
Yes! I offer overnight, in-home dog sitting on a limited basis. Because dogs often require more one-on-one time, availability depends on my schedule and your dog's individual needs.
🏡 Do I stay in your home?
For overnight bookings, yes. Your animals get to stay where they're happiest and most comfortable—at home, following their normal routine.
🌻 Do I only care for animals?
No! Depending on your needs, I can also help with things such as watering plants and gardens, bringing in mail, taking trash cans in/out, and keeping an eye on things while you're away.
🐓 Do you charge extra when I have a lot of animals?
No extra animal fees! Whether your farm family is big or small, we'll discuss your individual care needs and agree on everything before your booking.
🤝 Do I require a Meet & Greet?
YES! All new clients require a Meet & Greet.
I personally meet you, see your home/barn setup, meet your animals, and go over feeding routines, medications if applicable, emergency contacts, veterinarian information, gates, stalls, water, and everything else necessary to properly care for your animals.
🌾 Will I follow your feeding routine?
Absolutely! Animals thrive on routine. My goal isn't to change how you do things—it's to keep everything as normal as possible while you're gone. We'll go over your feeding and care routine together so I know exactly what your animals are accustomed to.
💰 How much do I charge?
Every farm and every situation is different. The number of visits, distance, responsibilities, and type of care needed are discussed during your Meet & Greet. You'll know your agreed-upon rate before you book.
🚭 Do I smoke or drink?
No. I am a non-smoker and non-drinker.
🇺🇸 Why do I have a 619 phone number?
I'm a retired U.S. Navy veteran, and I've had my phone number for many years. Military life means friends, family, and connections all over the country and world—and that number has followed me through it all! ❤️⚓️

I'm based in Moscow, Tennessee, and care for clients throughout the surrounding communities, including Moscow, Williston, Oakland, Somerville, Eads, Piperton, Rossville, Collierville, Lamar, Slayden, Red Banks, Arlington, Germantown, Lakeland, and surrounding areas depending on availability.
📅 How do I reserve dates?
Send me a message with your dates and location. If I'm available, we'll schedule your Meet & Greet. My calendar can fill quickly around holidays, school breaks, spring, summer, and fall vacations, so booking early is always encouraged.

ME! When you hire The Barn Nanny, you're trusting me with your animals, property, gates, barns, home, belongings, and routines. I take that responsibility seriously. I believe communication is incredibly important, and I provide updates, pictures, and/or videos during my visits.

Because I genuinely LOVE animals. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your farm and animals behind when you travel. Having someone dependable who understands farm animals and respects their routine gives you the ability to enjoy your time away knowing they're being cared for.
